Part of lovely old stone 'longere' (farmhouse); the gite is the central part of the building in the main picture. The 2 bedrooms are one double and one twin (two single beds). Downstairs are the salon, dining room and kitchen; upstairs are the bedrooms and bathroom. Fenced guest garden with play area, sun loungers and bench table. We've also just built a new decked area in front of the gite (photos to come) with two bench tables and parasols when needed. We have a few bikes of various sizes available to borrow if you wish; next door is a beautiful old railway line for cycling/walking. Plenty of castles, museums, art galleries and other attractions in the surrounding area; see our website for details. In order to encourage responsible use of electricity, we now charge £0.15 / €0,15 per...Part of lovely old stone 'longere' (farmhouse); the gite is the central part of the building in the main picture. In order to encourage responsible use of electricity, we now charge £0.15 / €0,15 per KwH - readings will be taken at the beginning and end of your stay, and can be paid by cheque or cash. Firewood, on the other hand, for use in the woodburner, is free! Bed linen is provided free of charge. Hand towels and tea towels are provided free of charge. Bath towels and facecloths can be provided at an extra cost of €10 / £10 per booking, payable on arrival. A washing machine is available in the utility room – again, to encourage responsible use of resources, your first wash is included in the rental price, but subsequent washes will be charged at £5 / €5. An optional final cleaning service is available at an extra cost of €50 / £50, payable on arrival. Please ask when booking if you would like one or both of these services. We have lots of animals - little Ouessant sheep, ducks and chickens, cats and dogs (though they're not allowed in the gite!), and we are on site should you have any questions. We won't bother you if you don't need us, though! Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: 792365496RCSLAVALMore

What a lovely stay we had at this beautiful jouet whilst we came to France to attend my nieces wedding, a lovely welcoming couple who went above and beyond to help us out. They even helped us with a meal when we needed help. Beautiful...More

About the neighbourhood
Mayenne is sometimes known as the Department of cows - this area is beautifully rural, with farms a-plenty, but also stunning countryside - forests and woods, open hills and dales, streams and lakes to fish in - and loads of ancient castles and other historic buildings to enjoy. We are in the countryside, part of an old farm, and it's incredibly peaceful and tranquil - which is why we moved here. If you want nightlife, though, you'll have to drive - all our local bars close at about 7pm! Restaurants, of course, are open later and we can highly recommend a few...
Getting around
There's no public transport to speak of, so you will need a car for shopping, sightseeing, etc. There are lots of lovely castles and other places to visit locally. There is a lovely old railway line just at the end of our lane that has been converted to a walking/cycling/riding route, and we have bikes of various sizes available for you to borrow if you wish.
