A secluded cottage near The Burren!
Only a few minutes drive from Kilfenora, the cottage sits at the end of a little lane and is very private and comfortable. The property is well maintained, well appointed, and has all the creature comforts necessary for a holiday. We've used this cottage twice for two-week vacations, doing day trips along the coast of Clare and hiking on The Burren. The owners take pride in their property, and make sure their guests are comfortable. Always just a phone call away, they are always available, but never intrusive.

Superb Holiday Experience
Brook Cottage is a superb, lovingly and sympathetically restored traditional Irish cottage. Within walking distance of Kilfenora village centre (~10 minutes), the cottage is set in its own private and secluded grounds, off a sleepy country lane. Margaret and PJ are clearly passionate about the cottage and the enjoyment of their guests; they met us personally upon arrival and departure. We have visited several times already and will do so again soon. Brook Cottage, coupled with the outstanding beauty of The Burren, makes for a superb holiday experience. The thing we like best is the privacy; the thing we like least is having to leave!

beautiful cottage in the quiet irish countryside
We stayed twice in Brook Cottage and spent in all about 7 wonderful weeks there. Since we have been here first in 2007 we love this peaceful place so much. Margaret and PJ are very nice people and we were very friendly welcomed. The old traditional but well restored cottage itself is charming and tastefully furnished. The kitchen is very well equipped and the lounge with its fireplace is nice and comfortable. We also liked very much the large outside area with trees and the lawn. It's lovely and perfect for relaxing in the quiet Irish countryside. The house is conveniently located to explore the Burren and the stunning atlantic coast. We also made a longer trip up to Connemara. In the evenings we often enjoyed a pint and the Irish music in the pubs of the villages surrounding. When we returned to the cottage at night, we felt like as if we were coming home...

" The most beautiful cottage i ever stayed in"
PJ and Margaret are what you call the perfect hosts. We arrived to the village of Kilfenora on a Saturday afternoon where we met PJ and Margaret who kindly escorted us to Brook Cottage, just minutes from Kilfenora village. The cottage is situated down a quiet peaceful avenue. Its like a part of heaven. The cottage is cozy, comfortable and really homely. We brought our kids with us. Usually we find it hard to entertain them, but the cottage has all you want to keep them happy. It has a stream running along the back of the cottage, a play area and a little area with trees which gives it that fairly tale feel. We are from the city and if I were asked would I move to the country after staying here, I would in a heart beat. If you are one for eating out, Irish music and few pints Kilfenora has all of that. The Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Lahinch all near by. What more can you want. PJ and Margaret see you again in August.

A home from home! A great place to stay!
We have been to the cottage twice so far and we absolutely love it. The cottage is just as advertised probably even better. The kids love the open space, the little stream and the little forest (as they call it). Margaret and PJ make you feel most welcome and the cottage really has everything you need. We would have no problem recommending this cottage, I tell everyone whose willing to listen, all about it. We'll definitely be back.

A verdant oasis at the foothills of the Burren
This beautiful cottage is nestled in a quiet valley at the foothills of the Burren, just a mile up the road from Main Street, Kilfenora. We've been fortunate enough to stay at Brook Cottage three times over two trips. Each time, it feels more like home. The owners have made the cottage very cozy and home-like with details you don't think to have until you need them. The very large fireplace in the comfortable sitting room was stoked with a roaring turf fire each time we checked in and a basket of turf and briquettes were provided for future evening fires. There are plenty of books and brochures of local history and sites in the sitting room. The home has a convenient washer/dryer combo unit suitable for light loads, if needs be. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, cooking tools, teal boiler, French press, full-sized refrigerator and automatic dishwasher, as well. The master bedroom is ensuite and includes plenty of room for clothing and accessories. The bed is squeeky, but not too uncomfortable. The second bedroom has a double and single beds and places for unpacked clothes. The main bathroom is large by Irish standards and includes a full bathtub with shower enclosure. Remember to bring your own bath and hand towels as they are not provided! Electrics and oil heating are charged separately and can be expensive if not monitored. Located at the end of a private road and very private. Outside the cottage is a large parking area. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful fields. The property has it's own brook with bridge (hence the name)that runs around two sides of the cottage. Ocassionally, you will see a bovine neighbor happily munching away in the fields. Kilfenora village is just a mile down the road and is easily walkable. Many pubs on the Main Street will give you a warm welcome to Kilfenora, as well! All in all, one of our favorite places to stay in all of Ireland--we always look forward to winding down our trip at Brook Cottage and Kilfenora.

We loved this cottage and our holiday in Ireland
We've been to Clare a few times and love the Burren: this cottage was ideally sited - a lovely peaceful country 10 mins walk from Kilfenora and we were able to reach the Burren and the sea easily. We were given a warm and helpful welcome, and the cottage was spacious, well equipped and made a lovely home for us; comfy beds, good showers. easy to work heating, lovely fire in the hearth etc. We were surrounded by wild flowers, birdsong, even 3 hares! I would definitely come back and stay here again and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Warm welcome in a beautiful setting
Brook Cottage is a comfortable and well equipped cottage in a lovely, peaceful location. We couldn't have had a warmer welcome from Margaret and PJ. We were there for the Kilfenora Music festival and really enjoyed the music and craic. The Burren is a unique landscape with lots of history. Don't miss the megalithic tombs. Kilfenora was also the place where a lot of the "Father Ted" series was filmed and fans can take tea at the priests' house (actually a farm) by prior arrangement. The heating and electricity - paid for separately at the end of the stay - was expensive, although the rental was very reasonable for the high standard of the accomodation.

Taste some real Irish hospitality at Brook Cottage
Brook Cottage is a perfect base to explore the Burren and the delights of north Clare. Walking distance from Kilfenora, it's a comfortable spot with all the facilities you could ask for. The cottage is in a quiet and peaceful hollow with a pretty brook burbling past. You'll have hopeful visits from the neighbour's friendly Jack Russell and get to talk to the donkey in the field by the drive. The owners are delightful people to boot and couldn't be more helpful. Can't recommend this too highly -it's a gem! We had a brilliant week here.
