A beautiful Grade 2 listed cottage in the heart of Ditchling Village on the High Street (expect some noise during the day) at the foot of the South Downs . The bedrooms which are both upstairs are light and spacious and have new beds which are very comfy -1 super king and 1 king - they both have the advantage of being able to convert to make each 2 single beds (4 upstairs in total ) Lovely crisp white linen is provided. There is also a double sofa bed downstairs (please advise if you need to use) Downstairs there is a lounge with Inglnook fireplace and mood lighting, original wooden beams as well as natural wooden parquet flooring. There is a large comfy leather sofa, sofa bed and a small gate leg table and 4 chairs, a new Smart TV and fast Wi Fi. About the neighbourhood
Ditchling is a beautiful village at the bottom of The South Downs National Park. Close to Ditchling Beacon. There are 2 lovely village pubs and 2 lovely cafes, a Deli and Museum, wonderful Old Church overlooking the Village Pond. Brighton is very close (15mins drive) as is Lewes and Glyndbourne. Gatwick is 20 mins by train from Hassocks Main Line Station (5 mins away by car)
Getting around
Hassocks Main Line Station is about half hour walk along lovely country paths or road. Brighton 8 mins , London 40 mins and Gatwick 20 mins.
How to get there
You can catch the train from London (fast one takes about 40 mins) stop at Hassocks Station. You can get a taxi (cost about £10) or walking would take about 30 minutes. If you drive you can park either opposite or in the Village Car Park, which is free and is less than a minute walk. Gatwick Airport is 20 minutes by train and about 30 driving.
