@Y802CQrichardrReviewed March 2025 - This was my 2nd visit to Restaurant Pic in Valence (and thus my 2nd review of this establishment). I was curious to see how it would compare to my first lunch at Restaurant Pic about 6 months prior. I opted once again for the Voyage à 7 haltes (7 stops) menu. There was an excellent mix of 'something old, something new' but every dish on the menu has something that 'pops out', whether it is visually, or a flavour or even a texture. There were many completely new dishes as compared with my last visit. The cheese dish focused on Brie de Meaux served 2 ways, whereas last time, it was goat cheese that was the highlight of the dish. I enjoyed fish as the 'main course', or rather the 'Halte' before the cheese dish. I was delighted to find a fairly large selection of wines by the glass to go with my lunch and my lunch guest enjoyed the non-alcoholic set drinks menu. It was truly fascinating to see the staff prepare various herbal infusions tableside and to have them explain the ingredients and process. Lunch at Restaurant Pic can be a real learning opportunity. The staff in the dining room are super friendly and take the time to explain the dishes, their ingredients and to answer questions (I am as curious as a cat and always like to ask questions so as to learn new things). Lastly, in my opinion, the lunch was reasonably priced for a restaurant of this calibre and reputation. Many thanks to the Cheffe Anne-Sophie Pic and her team for making my lunch a memorable experience.

- This was somewhat of a pilgrimage for me and my dining experience here was outstanding. This lunch would be better described as a truly sensorial voyage through visuals, flavours, textures of the finest ingredients, but also through the childhood and memorable experiences of the Cheffe Ms. Pic herself. I think that if one should want the experience of "seeing the chef on a plate", so to speak, then this gastronomic experience truly lives up to that. Some people like to go to art galleries and admire the art works there, for me this is food art, a sensorial discovery of ingredients and culinary creations with a glimpse into the character of the artist herself. I would describe 'my lunch' as truly thought-provoking and much like any art, you either get what the artist is trying to do or you don't... Or perhaps you just sit back with a glass of wine, enjoying the situation and wondering "what does it all mean"? To come back down to Earth, the service from the staff was excellent. I had made a few requests and they made everything happen. Every staff member was super-friendly, answered all of my questions (I ask a lot of questions!) and even showed me the kitchen. Lastly, I thought the prices were very good and the meal was not as expensive as would have thought for a Michelin 3-star restaurant run by one of the best chefs in the world.
