After all the beach time, sports and water activities, wining and dining, and just plain old soaking up the life of paradise, what else is there to do but shop? Hawaiian tourists are desperate to bring back some of the paradise to their homes and therefore there is barely a city in Hawaii without great shopping and Hilo is no exception.

Jewelry is a popular item especially when involving the famous pearl. The Black Pearl Gallery is the best place to find pearls in Hilo and is located on Kamehameha Avenue. If you get hungry after your pearl search, check out the Hilo Farmer's Market at the cross of Mamo Street and Kamehameha Avenue. Because of the heavy rainfall in Hilo, the market is under a roof!

The Farmer's Market has a huge variety but that still should not stop you from a visit to the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory on what else, but Macadamia Road!

The absolutely favorite shop for Hawaiian tourists (specially those on busses who have no choice) no matter what island or city they are in, is Hilo Hattie; whatever it is you may be looking for that has to do with Hawaii, you are sure to find it here.
