If you plan to arrive by plane, fly into the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport. The airport, which is served by American Eagle, Continental Express, and Southwest, sees approximately 70 arrivals and departures every day. Downtown Lubbock is approximately 10 minutes from the airport. If you want to rent a car, which is advisable, you can do so right at the airport. Six car rental agencies have counters there, including Hertz, Avis, and Enterprise. Hop on Interstate 27 and Loop 289 to get to most places of interest.
