Downsville is a  very small Delaware County Hamlet that sits to the West of   the Pepacton Reservoir  at the western end of the Catskills.   

There is a pretty park in the town with a historic covered bridge that spans the  East Branch of the Delaware river.  

In winter snow and ice the roads can be hazardous, as well as during flooding (which can be often) especially in the Spring months.

There is a Diner, 2 gas stations a country store, a health food store and a Restaurant called the Schoolhouse.   The Schoolhouse is a Victorian styled eatery with extensive elaborate woodwork, very high ceilings and two dining rooms.  The bar area is adorned with various taxidermy (including bears).    There is also  the Downsville Motel sits on the East branch of the Delaware river and rents canoes and Kayaks, as well as sells fishing supplies.  There are also B&B's. 

Land is inexpensive and property taxes are very low. 

The surrounding countryside is picturesque.
