Templeton forms a huge section of the Paso Robles Wine Country. The small and charming downtown is easily accessible off Highway 101 and offers several very good restaurants. Templeton’s borders wrap around Paso Robles to the South and West, with dozens of wineries including Castoro, Donati, Peachy Canyon , and Wild Horse. York Mountain Winery, the oldest winery in SLO County and one of the oldest in California , is on Highway 46West, as is the Jack Creek Farm Store, offering great local produce and gourmet items. The tree-filled downtown park hosts a large and very popular Farmers Market every Saturday morning, a summer concert series on Wednesday evenings, and several other major events through the year. There are no motels or hotels in Templeton, but there are several charming B&B’s. For hotels, check out nearby Atascadero , to the south, or downtown Paso Robles, to the north.
