The climate in Bandar Seri Begawan and throughout the rest of Brunei Darussalam is tropical, meaning that throughout the year, the weather is generally hot, rainy, and humid. Although Brunei can be visited throughout the year, certain months are more comfortable than others as they receive less rain.
Temperatures are fairly consistent throughout the year. On average, the hottest months of the year are April, May, and June, during which time the daily high temperatures generally hover in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s. The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the mid to upper 70’s. In contrast, the coldest months of the year on average are November and December, during which time the daily high temperatures will reach the upper 80’s. The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the mid to lower 70’s.
There are two rainy seasons during the year, which are from April through May, and again from October through December. Although rainstorms will roll through during most months of the year, these times are exceptionally wet. Most tourists choose to avoid these months.
