Temperatures are warmest in Halifax between May and October. During the summer, the average daytime temperature is in the low 20's Celsius (mid-70's, Fahrenheit) and nightly temperatures drop to the low teens (in Fahrenheit, the mid-50s). Winter temperatures range from 0 to 3°C (mid-30's °F) to -10°C (the low teens in °F). Precipitation occurs evenly throughout the year, with an average of 5 inches of precipitation per month.
Most attractions, such as museums and maritime exhibits, are open for the most hours during the period of May to October -- during the rest of the season, most attractions operate under reduced hours.
