You can find any number of guide books that will help you plan a dream trip to St. Maartens. They are as common as tabloid magazines in the grocery store – and about as easy to find too – but some are ranked better by readers and travelers than others. It’s these that might help you plan your best trip.

“St. Martin and St. Bart’s Alive!” isn’t just about St. Martin, obviously, but it features highlights about St. Maarten that aren’t just on the beaten path, but off as well. There are suggestions for best beaches, restaurants, hotels. Depending on what you’d like to do, there are suggestions to meet your needs.  This book was written in 2003 and can be found on Amazon.

Sometimes the best information doesn’t come in the form of a book, but a website. One comprehensive website devoted to all things St. Maarten is Jeff Berger’s St. Maarten Information Center. Although it’s a bit busy and hard to read, literally everything you could want to know about planning a trip to St. Maarten is here, from best airfares to comprehensive weather reports to insider tips about traveling to the area.

Don’t forget local publications that can be found online. You can visit The Daily Herald for information about the area, and even sign up for a newsletter that will provide you with weekly news in your email box.

You may also want to checkout ebooks such as SXM Uncovered  (website doesn't work but you can find the book on kindle at Amazon) so you can immediately download insider's advice on where to go and what to see. SXM Uncovered also offers vouchers with discounts on restaurants, bars and hotels.
