Sunnyside Cottage was just what we needed - a little way only out of the bustling Keswick and quiet. The view from the cottage was unreal and we never tired of it. Thanks Val for the swinging seat on the terrace. Drinks after walking were made even better by sitting out there. It was a charming cottage and very comfortable. Our only suggestions would be to provide soap liquid in bathroom and some small toiletries. Also laundry and dishwasher powder.
Val is a lovely person and very hospitable.
We arranged to stay at Sunnyside Cottage as we were attending a family wedding in the village. The cottage is a little dated although the doors must have been freshly painted as they were squeaky and difficult to open and close.
We were a little disappointed as a family of four that the bedroom which split into two single beds was the master bedroom. This meant our children had the bigger bedroom whilst Mum & Dad (who were paying for the cottage!) ended up in the very small double room. There was not much room in there and it had thin curtains which did not keep the sun out in the early morning and waking us up. As the room looked onto the road we had to keep them closed during the day whilst getting ready. The wardrobe was a display cabinet with the drawer and cupboard underneath not fitted correctly and was too small for our wedding outfits.
Having said that the location was excellent and the view from the living room was amazing
Husband and I booked Sunnyside Cottage as a base for our week's stay in the Lake District. The bungalow was ideally placed for visiting various parts of the region. The property itself was very nicely set up and furnished. The bungalow is comfy, light and convenient. All the things you'd need are in place. The bed is comfy and h-u-g-e. Everything worked well, and the view out of the window was absolutely stunning!
The view out of the front is of Blencathra mountain. From the patio at the back, the view is out over a long, sunlit valley to the mountains beyond.
The property was very clean and comfortable. The owner, Val was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The views were amazing and the local pub served good food. Thankyou for a lovely stay.
Excellent, dog-friendly accommodation in a part of England that we love. Normally camp nearby but decided on a bit of luxury. Brilliant location, just a short distance from Keswick. Friendly and helpful owner. Spotless house with spectacular views in both directions. Both pubs in the village are dog-friendly and have great food after a long hike.
Will be using again in the winters to come
