“Perfect setting for exploring the Northern lakes”
Reviewed 3 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Ings cottage enjoys a wonderful location; you can quite literally walk from your back door onto the slopes of Blencathra, or a more sedate walk down the disused railway line into Keswick (4 miles) or a fifteen minute walk through fields into Threlkeld with its two pubs and terrific coffee shop. The cottage itself is full of character (some low beams, mind your head!) but with a modern kitchen and two bathrooms - families or larger groups will be perfectly comfortable here and I guarantee a good night's sleep given the isolated position. We loved the upstairs lounge with big sofas and stacks of books and DVDs to enjoy. There's a smaller downstairs lounge too, plus a lovely little garden at the front of the house. We really could not fault Ings and we are very fussy! The owner even sent a tin opener to the cottage via Amazon because the resident one had gone missing; great service! Wonderful holiday rental; fully recommended.

“Wonderful for a family holiday”
Reviewed 3 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed in August for a week with our family including two young children. We all loved the cottage, which is in an excellent position for cycling and walking - and not too far from the pub in Threlkeld! The children aged 3 and 6 had a wonderful time playing with the toys, the dressing up box, and the swing in the garden. Lovely to have the two lounges with plenty of space for everyone to get together in the upstairs lounge, and the dining table that seated everyone.

“Lovely cottage in wonderful location”

We stayed here at the beginning of July and apart from a hiccup with the cleaning when we arrived at the cottage, due to a breakdown in communication between the owner and the cleaner, which put a bit of a dampner on our arrival, it definitely lived up to expectations., The location is brilliant and the cottage is larger than we had imagined it would be, with plenty of space for an extended family to be accommodated comfortably. We had good weather and it was wonderful to sit in the garden with such a gorgeous view while we ate breakfast in the morning. Good walks and nice pubs nearby and well located for driving to other places in the Lake District. Would not hesitate to return again for another holiday.
