Frans Indongo is a great place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When you arrive, you are greeted with "Welcome Juice" where they describe all the activities available. We were then escorted to our Chalet which was wonderful and very spacious with a large bathroom. There are hiking trails, game drives, animals to view and so much to do. We enjoyed a long hike where we saw Zebras and so many beautiful birds. Dinner was wonderful, the meal was a set menu but I alerted them that I am a vegetarian and they created an amazing meal for me. We were heading out very early and planned on skipping the free breakfast but the staff insisted that they pack a meal for our long drive and wow, I'm so glad they did it was incredible and they remembered to make one veggie! We highly recommend this place to stay, it's amazing!

Room Tip: They are all good!

We stay for two nights back in June. We picked this lodge to break the journey from Windhoek to Etosha and so glad we did. The Lodge exceeded our expectations in all ways. Lovely chalet, friendly staff and fabulous food. Highly recommended and will stay here again.

Good food. We were the only ones there as the season was about to begin. Quite near to Windhoek, so a good place to start or end Your trip in Namibia. A lot of birds to see. And wildlife You can feed by hand.

Fabulous apartments that are really well decorated, with air con and tv. Large well equipped bathroom. Mosquito net, but it had holes in it that I had to tape up.

Our welcome was nice, and we were told about a game drive which went thru the park from 16:30 to 18:30 before dinner being served at 19:00. We joined this drive, which was fun, but last until about 18:50. The driver was keen to point out we had only ten minutes until dinner was served, so we rushed to get ready. Upon arriving at dinner somewhat hot and bothered, we sat down on a table on time (as had been emphasised to us) in the balcony area but were ignored for at least fifteen minutes so didn’t even get to order a drink.

This table was not reserved (some had reserved signs, this one did not). When staff did come to serve us, the staff member said we were sat at a table for four, and should have been sat at a table for three. The (same size) table set for three was right in the corner, inside, in a very hot area so we asked to remain where we were and explained we had got hit rushing to dinner to make it after the drive was late back. This member of staff said we could, and that she would have to take one set of cutlery to the other table.

We were then approached by another member of staff who was very rude, and said we had to move. Due to her unpleasant, direct and rude demeanour, we declined to move into the hot stuffy corner, and said we could move and squeeze into a smaller table (set for two) in the balcony area if they needed this specific table back. The staff member was abrupt and unpleasant. She then made a big fuss about moving the table set for three into the balcony area, banging and scraping, and directing that we moved to it, which we did, however the table was moved with such fuss and strop by staff that it was hugely embarrassing. The people they then sat at the table we had been on also looked embarrassed. This is not the way to treat customers and was entirely unnecessary. The table was neither booked nor specifically required.

Having been told (more than once) that dinner was served at 19:00 and to be there by then, and having rushed to get there, it was rather irritating that dinner wasn’t actually served until after 19:30.

There was no choice, but just a fixed three course menu. The food was very nice, and look fantastic.

We had a great view of the stars at night, without much excess light on the viewing platform.

In the morning, I was awoken early with sprinklers in the garden having been switched on hammering water at my apartment door. Within ten minutes or so there was so much water that had come under my door that the room was flooded to the middle of the floor.
Whilst packing up to go, sprinklers were turned on in such quantities that it wasn’t actually possible to leave one of our rooms without walking through one. I rang reception, who apologised and turned them off.
These things happen, but after the previous night’s rude member of staff I felt taken for granted by the staff and disillusioned.

I am so disappointed in this place; they do some stuff so well (lovely food, fun drive, great initial welcome) and it is a really beautiful setting, but one member of staff ruined my experience and memory of this location with her rudeness and making such a fuss that it was embarrassing. As such, I would say this was my worst lodge to stay in during my trip, and it really shouldn’t have been.

This lodge is a true retreat after two weeks of driving. The bungalows are spacy and very comfortable. The deco is wonderful. The garden is so pretty. The watertower has a little lookout on top. You can sit there and enjoy the sunset.
The deck and the restaurant are very nice and the pool invites to relax. The food was great. The service in the lodge is very professional. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.
They have a nice hiking trail and the game drive was fun although we didn't see the rhinos. It has been a very relaxing time.
Thanks to the whole team. It was the best lodge on our trip!
