The best way to navigate this spot was recommended to me by my auto driver-- the government run shuttle that charges INR 20 for a return trip to the various spots in the complex. It is a hop-on-hop-off service that covers the (1) Lighthouse, (2) Dam entrance & lake side and (3) children's area

Is definitely the best thing in Hospet.

Getting to the main gate is easy - take an auto or take a city bus - if you dont have a private transport. Getting to the top of the hill is a challenge. You have to wait for a bus service that exists within the park. It will take you to two levels - the dam level and the point on the top. They will take as many passenger as possible and squeeze them into the bus.

Once you reach the top - you get breathtaking views of the reservoir. You need to wait for the bus again to take you down. You can get down at the dam level and then walk back to the main gate from there.

Tungabhadra is the main river for Hospet and Hampi and this dam is located just 10 kms away from the city center and can be easily visited through three wheelers from Hospet. One has to walk for few kilometres to reach the garden . The view from top of hillock is quite mesmerizing, though there is less water in the reservoir during my visit in first week of March. Entry charges are Rs 20 per person for Indian citizens.

TB dam was aesthetically appealing. The construction, the engineering behind it is excellent. The gardens around the dam was clean too. The only sore point was a policeman posted there for whatever reason, who was abusive for no apparent reason with public. Overall, a pleasant experience, barring that lowly ranked public servant’s rant..
