Description: "Culinary excellence combined with art and culture." The idea came to us thinking of a place to spend the entire evening, from dinner to after dinner. For "excellence" in the kitchen we are: the selection of raw materials, a menu strongly seasonal variability constant menu itself (every 10 days), a wine cellar and spirits of the highest level and not in the last triptych of professionals who crush you these components , starting from the Chef Flavia Brown, help cook Giacomo Romito and finally to Maitre-Sommelier Alessandra Surdo, all professionals with different experience behind and from the renowned school ALMA Master Gualtiero Marchesi. The combination with "Art and Culture" because our small but cozy bistro space and give life to several initiatives which will give you a calendar of social and here on our web page. Each month the walls of our local host works of photographers, painters, sculptors, at the end of each session exhibition will organize a dinner to Hoc for you to know / to and interact with them. At least two times a week on our small shelf host of individual artists who will entertain our guests after dinner (individual tools, monologues, readings, cabaret). We also take life on a reserved space that we called "The unique table", themed dinners for only 6/8 diners, an opportunity to review a book or a movie. The beautiful garden will then be available in the spring-summer for concerts and fashion shows.

The food is very special and tasteful,the hospitality exceptional,the place is very nice.the 2 women who runs the place explain every dish.we great seafood dishes,unique to the area.

There are many fine restaurants in and around Perugia, but this restaurant is something very special. Our evening began with a warm welcome from owner/Maitre d' Domenico Surdo. Having lived part-time in Perugia for the last 10 years, we are quite familiar with many of the good restaurants in the region and I must say that the cuisine in this restaurant is truly unique, extremely creative and outstanding. If I were to try to put a name to it, I might call it contemporary or noveau Sicilian (no, it is not what your Sicilian grandmother made for Sunday dinner). Strongly influenced by the Sicilian origins of the owner and staff, the cuisine creatively uses fish and seafood in many of its offerings. We started with antipasti of tartare of tuna and a basil-based soup with pieces of cuttlefish, both absolutely delicious. For our main courses we selected monk fish (Coda di Rospo) with a light ginger sauce and a sword fish strudel, both presented beautifully and were delicious as well. I asked Domenico to recommend a wine and he suggested a Ribolla Gialla which was excellent, one of the best I'd ever tasted. For dessert I chose the traditional Sicilian granita and brioche while my wife indulged herself in an interesting chocolate creation. The service through was excellent, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere and an unforgettable dining experience. In addition, the cost of our meal, including wine, was very reasonable as well. We will certainly be returning here to sample more of the restaurant's very interesting menu.

It is hard to describe properly such an excellent experience for our family of 4. We went to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday, feeling anxious, as she is hard to please when it comes to food.From the very first warm welcome to an even warmer farewell, we were treated to great service, inventive and great tasting dishes, with full explainations from the chef and sous chef/pastry chef on our meal choices. The first and second courses are small sizes, meant for tasting and boy did they taste good. The main meal is a good portion and all of our mains were truly enjoyable. When it came to dessert, unusual and inspired presentations by the pastry chef made for a great end to our meal. Our compliments again to the Team at La Forchetta for giving us such a lovley memory to take back to Canada.

We heard about this restaurant from our Italian teacher. It was a fabulous find! We really enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The food is inventive, but keeps to the heart of Italian cuisine -- ingredients that are fresh and local. The salad (pinsimonio moderno) was a masterful presentation and very refreshing. The Tortino di Cardi was a modern interpretation of a classic. My partner ate the Tortino Patate and it was sublime. I had the Carbonara di Gamberi -- again, a fresh take on a classic. We enjoyed the meal with a local Montefalco Rosso. The service was fantastic from start to finish - very welcoming, very knowledgeable, attentive. A great experience. They have a side patio/terrace that we look forward to enjoying when the weather warms up. If you are in the area, do not miss the opportunity to try this restaurant! Bravo!

We ate lunch at this small restaurant which is located in the industrial area around Perugia in Ponte San Giovanni. Don't be fooled though by the industrial zone. This restaurant is an oasis of nouveau Italian food. They do not serve typical Umbria food at this restaurant which is quite refreshing.

The owner of the restaurant grew up in Sicily and spent some time in Florence before starting this restaurant.

La Forchetta has a large wine list and there is outside seating as well.

We will come back again in the spring to sit outside. Our service was impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant. The owner speaks several languages as well.
