We went there in the end of January, perfect timing for the sea. It's nice and quiet, good for relaxing and reading books. They have badminton and volleyball to play near the beach( the equipment were not in great condition but enough for us to hv fun), also has tennis court nearby.
To have sunbed on our rooftop is a plus. we can see lots of star and shooting stars at night(it's nicer if your room is near the pool bcoz it's darker so you can see stars clearly). We stayed at two type of rooms, one near the pool and one next to the beach.
The room next to the beach is convenient but has more noises from the insects on the trees and people walking by.
The staffs were friendly, picked us up and off from the pier. The food at the hotel was great( we ordered grilled fish with lime, garlic sauce and etc.) . There were some mosquitoes, just put the repellent on at night and no probs. You can rent a scooter from hotel to go round the island and it costs not much. There are lots of beaches and good places for drinks, such as cococape(very beautiful sunset).
All in all, we would love to come back again soon!

We immediately fell in love with this beautiful resort, the white sand beach and the lush garden! This place is so peaceful and feels like paradise on earth!!!
The garden villas are awesome and all the bungalows have an incredible rooftop with lounge chairs to relax! We enjoyed ever single minute of our stay and Koh Mak is our new favorite island in Thailand!!!
This resort offers the best breakfast buffet we had in whole Thailand and the staff was excellent! We can highly recommend the Ao Kao White Sand Beach to everybody who is planning to come to Koh Mak and we plan to come back for sure ❤️️

NO driver @ airport !!
The private driver from Bangkok airport which was organised by this resort
never appeared !! Nice with 2 kids after 24h flight ... No excuse, no refund, nothing.
Ao Kao's beach has lots of sandflies and not enough sunbeds (plus in a bad condition). The staff is friendly but doesn't speak enough english. My toilet didn't work properly ...
NOT to recommend!

Hotel has very nice beach, cleaned daily! One of the nicest on the island, checked them all. Even the moore expensive resorts didnt have such nice beach. Whole resort is clean. Very good restaurant with good prices. Variety of Thai and western food. Villas are very spacious, clean, with tv, safe, ac. Rooms cleaned daily. Small Gekko or Ant may occur, but thats everywhere in Thailand, just get used to it. The rooftop terrace is great,is equipped with sunbeds. Lot of acivities available: tennis, beachwolleball, snorkelgear. Sailing trimaran and kayaks are for rental. Resort offers scooters at 300 Bhat. Got discount to 250bhat for 6 days. Thay massage available. Beachbar next to beach.
Staff is very kind, friendly and happy to assist you.
One of the best places to stay for couples of famylies.
Reccomend.

We spent 12 amazing days here at Ao Kao White Sand Beach Resort a month ago and we still talk about how much we want to come back everyday. The location is great and we rented a bike where we just used it to travel around the island. The place is well kept and maintained, breakfast was delicious, the villa we stayed at is extremely comfortable but most of all, it is the people that makes this place so special. From Nueang, Nat and Jenny to Loong Kong and Hung at the BBQ place, they are the sweetest and most gracious people who made our stay so warm and memorable. We will definitely come back again.
