We stayed here as a couple with our 18 month old, staying in a Luxury Cottage overlooking the beach and sea.

The hotel is simply wonderful. We couldn’t find a single fault with anything! The breakfast was extensive and delicious, lunch menu huge and delicious and dinner lovely too!

We ate at the hotel for a few nights and also ate at The Cliff, Lonestar and Tides. All were delicious and close by.

The staff were all so nice and so accommodating with our son. He was the only child at the resort but we never felt out of place or like he wasn’t welcome. High chairs and a travel cot were provided and milk on request as well.

The room was amazing and gigantic! A huge cottage with bedroom, bathroom and huge terrace as well as separate living area with door, where our son could sleep. There is a sofa bed that could accommodate a couple of children if needed.

We stepped right out from our cottage onto a small grass area and then right onto the beach! Amazing.

We also had a private plunge pool which was a nice touch and nice to cool off in.

Beach beds were plentiful and very comfy, lots of umbrellas too and lovely beach with good snorkelling right off the beach. Good watersports options and jetski vendors that come by every now and then.

Nice walks along both directions of the beach and easy access to Holetown nearby. We hired a car and explored Bathsheba and the East Coast – a must see.

We would 100% recommend the hotel and will stay again in a heartbeat. A beautiful old historic property, it was spotless and had so much charm. Staff members were always on hand for any needs and kept the place so clean.

Definitely go, you won’t regret it!

First time to Barbados and first time to the Coral Reef Club and we hope we will be lucky enough to come back here , we had the most amazing suite it was bigger than our 1 st apartment , fantastic views over the sea ,with a balcony that had a spa pool and bar , the decor was absolutely on point for the plantation style of the resort .We ate in the Reef restaurant 3 times the food was always good ,but the Thursday BBQ night is a not to be missed event .The Breakfast buffet is also excellent with a really good egg & Pancake chef on duty .
The staff were so helpful and friendly , the beach has a Coral Reef just off it hence the name I suppose so snorkelling is easy just a step away from our Sun Beds. The security are very good as well because you can be bothered by beach traders there was always one of them keeping an eye out for you ,but we found a simple no thank you and you were left alone .
We had a perfectly lovely time and would recommend this hotel 100%

My husband and two friends of mine went the the Coral Reef Club. First, it is run by the O'Hara family. You see the owner walking around every day making sure things are up to his standard.

First you will meet the hotel manager, Nigel. If you have any issues or need advice on where to go, what to eat or what to do, he will help you.
Nigel suggested we go on a safari trip in a an open jeep. Our tour guide was Patrick and he knew the history of Barbados. He was funny, knowledgeable and drove safely.

Next, when you go to their beach you will meet Mathew, your beach butler. He will take care of every need. The beach has many palm trees and so you never get too hot. Also you can snorkel right off the beach.

My room was beautifully air-conditioned and very cozy. You don't have TV's in the room but they will put a DVD player in your room if you request it.

I am a celiac and can't eat wheat, rye, oats or barley. I wrote the wonderful Diane du Rushe, in reservations, and she sent my food requests to Executive Chef Hans Bannister. I had the fluffiest gluten free waffles and gluten free pancakes ever. Also on buffet night, Chef Glenroy Alleyne showed me every dish that was gluten free.
My friends who do not have a gluten intolerance loved the food.

Overall the trip was out of this world. If you are looking for a place to go on vacation, this is it. Go on the website and email Diane de Rushe. She will answer every question you have.

Room tip: Ask for a room near their beautiful heated pool. My husband would read his book on the patio and jump in for a dip every 1/2 hour.

Lovely location in James Bay. Beautiful soft sandy beach with some water toys such as snorkels. This was just a stopover for us but we did use the snorkels and paddles. Only drawback is that the beach is open to the public so we got harassed with sales pitches to go see the turtles in a glass boat...
The hotel itself has a tropical colonial feel and was comfortable with rattan furniture. I did not like the bath as it was moldy and leaked - just make sure you take a shower and be prepared to vault over the sides as the baths seem elevated and unwieldy.
Breakfast was delicious and the staff/service were attentive and lovely.
It rained but the locals charmingly called it liquid sunshine! Loved them for trying it on!
