Stayed in a Luxury Junior Suite "Canna" (rooms are named rather than numbered - charming) the first week of May. I cannot say enough good things about the Coral Reef. After reading some comments here, I feared a dated property with lackadaisical staff and ownership but nothing could be further from the truth. Our room was well appointed, with a deep comfortable veranda (2nd floor) overlooking the sea (we had the perfect angle for sunsets). Nice large sitting area and very large bath with Jacuzzi tub and rain shower.

Service was impeccable - room was cleaned very well every day and nice turn down service. We are addicted to ice and ordered from room service constantly, and never waited more than 5 minutes for a bucket to be brought up. We at breakfast in room every day and selection and food was very good and prompt. Concierges were excellent and the grounds beautifully landscaped and maintained.

We were treated to 3 large monkeys in the palm tree by our veranda one morning - boy, can they move! Many beautiful birds visited us daily, too - watch your breakfast if you take it outside!

As others have said, having the family meet and greet as well as say goodbye was a nice touch. We also very much appreciated having late use of our room.

Note: we enjoyed the food at the Thursday night BBQ but the entertainment left something to be desired. Really the only negative I can think of on a 7 day holiday. We were very sad to leave the Coral Reef and hope to return someday soon!

Room tip: Loved the view from the second story - verandas on floor level got foot traffic all day.

My eldest brother lives in Barbados and regularly attends charity auctions as well as staging them, he bid for this 2 night stay.
We were placed in a garden room, WOW what an amazing place to wake up facing the sea, magnificent staff through out the hotel from the moment we arrived to the moment we walked out, so sorry to have left.
The food was amazing, cooked to perfection the staff totally attractive, no one rushed you. There was always a fine choice every day.
Good evening entertainment.
Would recommend to everyone.
Thank you Coral Reef Club.

Stayed for 2 weeks in a cottage with private plunge pool. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived. The standard of food & service is first class. The ladies who looked after our room were friendly & very efficient. Our plunge pool was serviced every day. Everyone in the restaurant was both friendly & efficient serving top class food. The owners host a cocktail party on Monday night followed by a great buffet. The BBQ was fantastic & there was entertainment each night. If you enjoy being totally spoilt in a traditional style you will not be dissapointed,

We stayed here for a week and we requested a sea facing room and got one which we were delighted with.A family run hotel with great spacious rooms and grounds.Small touches like having your breakfast in your room, keeping your room on for longer if it’s not booked and the family coming to say Goodbye on our departure made it extra special. We have stayed in a lot of hotels in St James and this is definately our favourite. We get why all the guests have been returning for years and we will too.
