We stayed for 2 weeks and were really impressed with the villas and the outdoor space, lovely gardens and great pool area. There were 15 of us in total sharing Domitilla and Sveva, which worked perfectly for 4 families, 8 adults and 7 children. I would personally not book one of these unless we were using both properties. A great alternative for a smaller party is the lovely Laurentia, perfect for 8 people. The properties are very rural with amazing countryside views. There is a pizzeria 500 m away, ideal for when you can't be bothered to cook, they catered happily for 25 of us on a couple of occasions.

Room Tip: This review is for villas so no real tips. Plse read the main review.

As we, two big families, decided to spend our summerholiday together this year we looked for a spacious and comfortable big house. Svea and Domittila had everything we needed combined with the very nice and big pool.
We had both privacy and social life, football, swimming, tennis.
Deep in our hearts we still adore the beautiful sunset which we could admire almost every evening from the cosy terrace under the living green pergola.
Both youngsters and elderly will remeber this summer for a very long time.

After five intensive days of sightseeing in the beautiful city of Roma, is was good to have the opportunity to relax in the magnificent country side of Lazio, north east of Roma, were we stayed with the two parents with our three sons, two of which with their girl friends. Villa Sveva offered us a fine combination of good comfort, an adequate number of bedrooms (with each an adjacent bathroom), good facilities, a nice terrace and a swimming pool. All very enjoyable. Villa Sveva was a good base for amongst other visiting Lake Bolsena, back to Rome to play golf at Castelgandolfo and visiting the game between Italy and Argentina in Stadio Olympico and some sightseeing in the direct neighborhood. Recommendable in all aspects.

We were looking for a large villa in a country setting with great proximity to both Rome and Tuscany. The Villa Laurentia on the Tenuta Santa Cristina estate was the perfect spot for our group of 2 families/9 adults. The villa was clean and spacious on a beautiful piece of land nestled in farm country, with great views of the Magliano Sabina countryside. It was perfect for outdoor dining, sunbathing, and swimming (private pool) and was a great way to begin and end busy days spent in Rome, Orvieto, and Montepuciano. The open floor plan was fantastic and we definitely made great use of the huge dining table in the very large family room. We hope that someday we can return to Italy and rent this property again.

We had been thinking of and finally planning a family reunion for almost four years during which time our needs and availability changed. After much searching I found, to our delight, Tenuta Santa Cristina. We were looking for a house that would fit eight adults, my father has mobility issues. It also needed a private pool with Roman steps - in the hope that we could all swim, and be close to a larger city. Tenuta Santa Cristina checked all the boxes! Three bedrooms upstairs with en-suite bathrooms, one down with handicap facilities, and a gorgeous pool! The pool was a bit chilly at first but once in it was lovely - it was mid-September but my mother and I swam everyday!
TSC is outside the hill town of Magliano Sabina in the most delightful countryside and yet is ONLY an hour from Rome, 45 mins to Orvieto and a little under two hours to Siena.
The estate grows grapes and olives and has four homes to choose from depending on size of your party. The views from every window are spectacular! For those of you who are unfamiliar with this area, the countryside has rolling hills with Medieval hill towns perched on top, all reached by roads that wind through the picturesque countryside and along ridge lines offering dramatic views. Step back in time as you walk through narrow roads and arches on cobbled streets barely wide enough for a car to pass and in some cases definitely not! The hill towns of Calvi, (go to the museum and ask to see the nativity) Cottonello and Montebuono are worth a visit - there are so many to choose from but these are on the doorstep of Tenuta Santa Cristina. No matter where you go the people are charming!
I have been learning Italian and was thankful that I could understand most things and make myself understood when needed, no one spoke English. I have to say how wonderful the Italian people are, so warm and friendly (and patient at my humble attempts to speak their language). We arrived late on a Saturday evening, the next day all the shops were closed. I stopped a man in the piazza who took me to a small store owned by Giovanni who sells slices of fresh homemade pizza - Giovanni put chairs outside for my parents to sit on and took me by the arm to his other store which he opened just for us! "Problem Solved" he said! Where else would that happen?
We were fortunate to stay for a whole month (my children & husband joined us mid-way). We got to live the Italian dream, we weren't surrounded by tourists or tourist shops, we were with the locals, shopping with them, eating in local restaurants, really getting the feel of life in Italy. We are all so impressed not just by the beauty of the country but by the people we met.
I'd recommend staying here to anyone, it is so relaxing with the bonus of being so close to Rome yet a million miles away from the hurley burly! Thank you to Laurentia and Daniella for making our stay so wonderful!

Room Tip: Tenuta santa Cristina also has a soccer field/tennis court, there's horseback riding down the road and quad bike tours for the more adventurous.
