Plateau Lodge was my starting and end point for the Tongariro Northern Circuit. Great place to stay, used a nearby restaurant on my return (great) and really enjoyed the spa. Shuttle to the start and end of the walk was efficiently done. The staff were friendly and helpful and I was able to stow my travel gear there whilst completing the tramp. Close enough to the station to walk, though staff would have given me a lift had I needed it.

We are the perfect place for Tongariro Northern Circuit and over night tramps. Our shuttle service frequently offers multiple departure times to the Tongariro National Park.

Great stay, close to the alpine crossing, shuttle pick up point in front of the park entrance, hot whirlpool to relax after hiking, clean amenities with good showers which was important for us if you are traveling with a campervan

We stayed here 2 nights as we completed the Tongariro Alpine Crossing (was awesome!!!) We booked our shuttle to/from with TCS, which worked out perfectly.
The staff at the lodge were friendly. The apartment we rented was very roomy and had all the amenities we needed. It was also clean.
We also really enjoyed the spa after the hike! It was heaven on our sore legs.
My only complaint is the WiFi. They charge $5 for 10GB for 24 hours. The problem is, once all the hikers start coming back from the Alpine Crossing, the WiFi is completely unusuable. After around 4pm, the WiFi just does not work. I normally would not complain, however, if paying for a service, I expect it to work. This is the only reason I am giving a 4/5 rating. Otherwise the place is great and I recommend it.

Thank you for the feedback We do agree to We are looking this and will be looking alternatives.

Our apartments are very popular, sleeping up to 6 people and having separate bedrooms are favorable for families and friends travelling together. Spa pool is a hit especially after a long day hiking, we take 30mins slot per room per day.

Location is good, and room is relatively clean and comfortable. The only problem is really bad internet connection. no free wifi, had to buy voucher online, then the connection was on and off and when it was on, it was super slow.

Thats no good with the wifi we are happy to reimbursement when we know about it. But you do need to remember we are in rural New Zealand and we don't have fast wifi. Our wifi is $5 for 10gb for multiple devices . 99% it works quite fine for us at the Lodge for business and for our guest.

We booked an ensuite room here for two. Very modern and comfortable though quite small. Fridge and kettle supplied with tea and coffee. Bed was a double, would have preferred a queen which is more standard. Wifi $5 a day and coverage poor which was annoying when we had opted to pay. Would prefer it just costed in to room rate instead of sold as an extra. Friendly staff and lovely spa pool free for guests use (must reserve a time slot).

Thank you. Our spa pool is hot with 38 degrees it soaks those sore tired legs after a big day of hiking.
