I have stayed here twice now while working in sheffield.
Its a great little place, not far from sheffield at all.
The village is great and there are some great walk, running or cycling to be had.
Service is top notch, tony and su are so helpful giving you a map, or explaining different bits to explore.
Very comfy nights sleep, breakfast is truly amazing, very fresh and great tasting!
Can't wait for my next stay.

We stayed one night here en route from the east coast to Manchester on the Trans Pennine Trail. This is an ideal place for cyclists as Tony also runs the local cycle repair shop and he kindly repaired a puncture for us, allowing us to slope off round the corner and have a nice meal at the local pub instead of getting the spanners out! The B&B is centrally situated (and shares premises with the post office and general stores run by Su), comfortable and friendly. It's not a luxury B&B but it is very homely with excellent and exceptionally helpful hosts. Hence the 5 star rating.

We spent just one night at Wortley Cottage but it was quite delightful. Really comfy beds, sizeable ensuites, and run by Su and Tony, who couldn't have been more helpful.
It's set in a lovely little village and we had a superb evening meal at the pub just round the corner and then breakfast cooked by Sue at the B&B was delicious and plentiful.
We would gladly return if in the area again.

We stayed in Tony & Sues Wortley cottage guest house for three nights when we came up to yorkshire for a wedding. We found the guest house quite easily and were able to go to our room a short time later, as it was not quite ready; we were early. Tony and Sue were marvellous. Nothing was too much trouble, and they answered every question then or found out and got back to us later. There was a fridge on the upstairs landing we could use to keep things if needed and their was always fresh milk there if you wanted some with you drink in the room.
The bed was very comfortable and we really slept very well. There were plenty of tea or coffee making facilities that even had biscuits and a couple of mints as well. There was a small flat screen t/v and an ironing board on request. The breakfast was really good. We needed a vegetarian breakfast and this was forthcoming and very tasty indeed.
Should I be in the area again would I mind staying here again? The answer would be yes please.
Thank you once again Tony and Sue and we wish you well for the future.

We spent a very enjoyable 3 nights in this cosy village B and B during our busy trip to what was a new area of Yorkshire for us. Su and Tony were most helpful with information before and during our stay. As well as having everything you could possibly need provided including free wifi there was a small fridge for our use on the landing too. We very much enjoyed the convenience of the Wortley Arms almost next door and the great food we had there on two successive evenings. We managed to squeeze in a short visit to the amazing Yorkshire Sculpture Park and will almost certainly return to this area again.Travel- wise a very convenient location for the M1 motorway.
On this occasion we didn't have time to do much exploring on foot/bike of the surrounding trails etc but did manage a walk through the beautiful grounds of the very interesting Wortley Hall a few minutes walk from the B and B. Definitely an area to return to and we would be very happy to stay at Wortley Cottage again.
