we went with the grandchildren and they spent most of the time in the new adventure play area, good for climbing ropes, there is a crazy golf course, (charge ), butterfly world, (charge ) and a small steam railway to ride, small charge and runs on a weekend,
the house and museum cost £2 and lasts 12 months, victorian street with people dressed in costume most days, a walled garden under reconstruction,
the museum has local exibits over two floors,
foot path down to the river,
car park is free,

excellent way to spend quiet a few hours looking around the newly refurbished site.. the new rooms with the exhibits ..good, and the old street with the shops, police station ,smithy etc all good ...people walking round in period dress was a good touch...the cafe in the street was very very slow and untidy ( lack of staff ???) the walk by the river and through the woods was relaxing... the play area for the kids was really good...well pleased by the whole site.

My parents and I were looking for a place to take my god daughter not too far from my home in Teesside. Arrived at the park to find ample free parking, bonus. First went to Butterfly World that charged £3.75 for adults & £3.25 for children and concessions, then through the door to this wondrous place. Not only butterflies but koi carp, small chicks, all pretty colours, meerkats, snakes, lizards the list goes on...
After spending an hour or so in this tropical paradise, to which you can return at any point during the day if you retain your receipt, then out into the crazy golf again reasonably priced.
Other attractions included an adventure playground and a museum that included a walk down memory lane.
Particular mention for the blacksmith, my god daughter was fascinated by the way he worked and the old fashioned sweet shop, again very reasonably priced.
An excellent family day out...
