“The best food in Pichilemu”
Review of La Gloria

La Gloria is one of the most traditional restaurants in Pichilemu. It is a simple family business, with no luxury but there you will surelly taste the real flavors of Chile. If you go in the summer I suggest you a Pastel de Choclo or a fried Congrio with salad. In the winter the Caldillo de Congrio is best option. A bottle of white wine is makes it even better.

Located away from town, this seafood spot is outstanding. Did not find another place anywhere near its quality or breadth of selection. We walked to and from La Gloria from the center of town, and felt perfectly safe. Definitely would eat there again.

Off the beaten path, this is not primarily a tourist restaurant. There is no view and unless you are a local, you'll have a hard time finding La Gloria. Our waiter was fabulous -- he was attentive, helpful and spoke English well. They also provide an English version of the menu, although some of the preparations are lost in translation. They are most known for fried sea bass, although the mixed raw seafood plate and some of the Chilean standard dishes are good too. This is good, not great food. There is no special twist, no special seasoning. La Gloria has a decent wine list and makes a few fun cocktails. The food was fresh. The dining spaces are large, so they can handle large groups.

A little hard to find. The locals told us to turn left, then left, then right, then walk to the end of the sidewalk and it's on the right. We would never have found it had not a nice gentlemen escorted us the ten minute walk uphill to the end of the sidewalk. We were the only ones in the restaurant, which is not much to look at. But our waitress was so friendly and helpful, and the food was so spectacular, that who cares about looks and location!
