Old Mill Site Park is along the north end of the Shoreline Trail in Port Moody, approximately half-way between Port Moody Rec Center and Old Orchard Park. This park features the remains of the McNair Cedar Mill, destroyed by fire in 1949. The city refers to these as "relics" of a previous era.
There is a shaded viewing deck as well as benches along the water. This is a great place to sit and chat with a friend, watch the ducks on the Burrard Inlet and listen to the birds in the Shoreline Park, read a good book, or to go out and explore the remains of the old mill site buildings and beehive burner. Water level in the Sound determines how much of this site you can safely explore.
CAUTION: Do Not wander out onto the mud flats! People and animals can become trapped in the mud. If someone gets stuck, immediately call 9-1-1.
