We booked a 2-night package with a day's Morgan car hire included, and loved every minute of our stay. We booked direct and communications from Lisa and Keith were fast and clear. They booked us into the black room, which we loved. It is full of character with big beams and a lovely fireplace, and is situated on the corner of the first floor at the front of the property. The 2 windows at the front of the property look out over gorgeous countryside, whilst a small side window looks out to the small lake at the side of the property, so the spacious bedroom is flooded with light. The modern décor in the room and throughout the property oozes style and sophistication, so you really feel like you're staying somewhere special. The spacious en-suite bathroom with the claw foot bath and separate walk in shower and soft, fluffy scented towels was also gorgeous. There was a beautiful bouquet of white lilies in our room, and we found many gorgeous displays throughout the house so the flower bill alone must be massive! The massive bed was extremely comfortable with soft high thread count bedding and luxurious throws. We both agreed we'd love to return again in the future to sample a different room, as they are all unique. There was a large supply of DVDs in our room, which we thought was a nice option. It would be nice to have a small fridge in the room too as there is plenty of space to house one so that you can keep any celebratory drinks for in-room use chilled (there is a cover charge for anything that is drunk outside your room). Fresh milk to go with the in-room tea/coffee machine is provided in a small fridge in the colourful seating area situated in the large communal upstairs hallway.
We enjoyed the hot tub with the changing led lights, which is housed in a covered extension where we watched the Olympics on the large wall mounted tv. The time went so fast we didn't get chance to try out the billiards table, but again this was a nice option.
Breakfast was amazing too! There was a huge bowl of fresh fruit brimming with strawberries, pineapple, melon, blueberries, etc plus various mueslis/granola. Lisa brought each couple a basket of hot white and brown toast, croissants, and muffins, then took orders for everyone's hot breakfast. We tried a full English on our first day, and eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce on day two. Both were gorgeous, and we really enjoyed chatting to the other guests over breakfast at the large shared table.
Driving around the scenic Cotswolds in a gorgeous morgan convertible on a sunny day with the wind through our hair was the icing on the cake for us, with a picnic hamper for lunch too. Local restauarant recommendations are on a list in each room and Keith booked us into the Mason Arms on our second night. Everything was perfect (and spotless) throughout our stay so we can't recommend the venue and the hosts highly enough!! :-)More
