“ATV Excursion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2012

Went on the ATV excursion (5 hour). It was everything advertised and more! The other couple did not show up for excursion so it was us, Melvin (owner) and another worker- lots of one on one time. Did excursion with only us. Melvin was funny and a great guide. Felt safe at all times. Would book another tour through Razor! Great experience.

“Great day out! Beautiful sights!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2011

Razor tours is a great way to spend a day (or two) in Samana. Took the half day ATV tour to playa rincon and it was fantastic. Melvin, the guide/owner is quite the character. He is warm, friendly and won't hesitate to crack a joke. I have taken 2 tours with him on separate occasions and would not hesitate to do it again.

Melvin and his crew take good care of their ATVs and do their best to accommodate everyone's needs.

Would definitely recommend!

“Best yet in Samana - Lo Mejor de Samana”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2011

Every time I come to Samana I book a tour or multiple tours with Razor Tours - they are definitely worth your time and provide an eye opening experience to Dominican back road culture and beauty. Also, if you like adventure (especially riding ATV off road) I'd highly suggest any of the atv tours.

I've been on a full day tour to Playa Rincon, Galeras, and Boca del Diablo, on the Waterfall Limon tour, and two half day tours to Playa Rincon. They are all exceptionally beautiful - especially the rincon full day tour, we were served fresh grilled fish, platanos, moro (rice & beans), avocado, and salad for lunch right on a cozy restaurant on the sand.

Melvin, the company owner, always goes on the excursions and is warm, helpful, and has a great sense of humor - he speaks 5 languages so don't worry about communication issues.

“Playa Rincon Beach was Exceptional with Razor Tours”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 December 2011

I planned way ahead for our visit. I looked through the cruise travel books and checked the Internet for each location. The map that Royal Caribbean had on the Internet showed two landmarks on it: 1. The Whale Museum 2. An arrow pointing to Playa Rincon beach.

I was very surprised that they did not have a tour to Playa Rincon. We booked online and received a 10% discount. When we reserved, they gave us a voucher for our travel. They request that you pay in cash when you take your trip, so you don't have to pay up front. I must say that they answered my email right away. Melvin explained that they would wait up to 1/2 hour for other guests. If they did not show they would leave for the destinations.

When we met them on the tender dock, they waited about 20 minutes for another couple, but made it quite clear that they would not hold our trip up any longer. Peter our tour guide's motto: "no problems today." I can say that we were certainly very pleased with this excursion, and they made us feel comfortable from the beginning till the end.

We took paved roads in a comfortable van to the small fishing village they mention in their advertisement, and then continued on to Las Galleras where a boat was waiting to take us to Playa Rincon beach. We were blessed with great weather, and the trip was comfortable.

I've been to a lot of beaches, but Playa Rincon is very lovely and delightfully secluded. There were a few other people there, but on this day we had it largely to ourselves. If you want a quiet day on a lovely beach, then this is it.

The lunch was wonderful and everything promised - cocoanut bread, mahi mahi, chicken, salad, rice and beans, coffee and rum and coke.

We did encounter one beach vendor, but he wasn't pushy, and he spent a good amount of time helping my wife pick out some jewelry and giving her a reasonable price.

After several hours on the beach, we were safely returned back to Samana. Peter watched our things while we swam, and had us place them on the chair where he could see it.

They took extra time to give us a little tour of the town in the van prior to leaving us where we requested a short walk from the tender dock so we could walk a little.

This was a great tour if you are looking for a safe and beautiful getaway.

“ATV Tour and Playa Rincon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 December 2011

The ATV Tour and visit to Playa Rincon was great! The terrain was rocky but the views are unforgettable ! We visited local sites where local produce was grown like pineapples, mango, banana, coffee, cacao, vanilla and an indigenous plant used in D.R. cooking. We saw how Mamajuana was made which became my husband's D.R addiction!

Melvin, our tour guide was great - highly recommended tour!
