“Everything you could want, and more!”
Reviewed 23 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

It is impossible to describe how cosy and charming this cottage is. It was spotlessly clean, and is kitted out with everything you could possibly need; from a cafeterie and egg cups to dressing gowns and lovely toiletries. We were even provided with fresh eggs from the chickens in the field outside, and a lovely homemade cake! What is more, Sheldon is the perfect base for walks all over the Southern side of the Peak District. All of this at an absolutely bargain price. Thank you very much for your hospitality, we hope to be back!

“Lovely cottage just a bit too small for us”
Reviewed 18 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Had a short break here with my husband and our dog. The cottage was really well equipped and had everything you need as well as toiletries and provisions such as eggs, delicious cake and milk on arrival. It is in a small village with a lovely friendly pub and well situated for many nice walks. The only downside to me is the size of the cottage, a wee bit too compact sitting area for us and our medium size dog.

“A perfect country retreat.”
Reviewed 18 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

A fabulous little cosy cottage, very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Situated in a lovely rural setting with an outside patio space (quite private) with a great view of the beautiful surrounding area. All the personal little extra touches that the owner offers makes this a real home from home. Keepers cottage is perfectly placed to explore this wonderful part of the country with so many things to do and hospitable pubs and inns serving delicious home cooked food. Excellent.

“Fantastic Cottage”

We stayed at Keepers cottage over the New Year. Took as a bit of time to do the review but there was a problem with the website and then we've been away!!

We've stayed at Lindsey's other 2 cottages in Sheldon and when we tried to book one for New Year she was fully booked. However she offered us a week in Keepers cottage which was being worked on at the time. What a good decision it turned out to be to stay there! As her other cottages this one is dog friendly and our Border Collie felt right at home straight away!

The cottage was finished a few days before we arrived. I think that's the first time we've ever been the first people to stay somewhere. As with Lindsey's other cottages the standard of finishing was excellent. It's quite spacious for a 1 bedroom cottage. The kitchen areas is lovely and has everything you need (Dishwasher, cooker and other implements)

There is a comfortable sitting area, and a lovely log burner (my favourite part!) The bathroom is just off the kitchen and a good size with a lovely shower. The bedroom has a really comfy bed and plenty of wardrobe space.

It's the little touches that set Lindsey's cottages apart from others we have stayed in. The freshly baked cakes are always nice and there are always half a dozen of eggs from her own hens.

Outside is a patio area which will be fenced off. It wasn't at the time of our stay as the weather had been very wet. There's a nice parking area at the side of the cottage. The views over the Peak District are lovely and in the summer, that patio area will be a lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink or 2. The hens wander around the field next to the cottage going about their business. Sheldon is probably our favourite village in the Peak District to stay so its nice that there is another cottage there right in the heart of the village. When you stay you must visit the pub.

We mainly go to walk and Sheldon couldn't be better situated. there are loads of footpaths from the door. You can easily walk to Taddington, Monsal Dale, Little Longstone, Bakewell and Monyash to name but a few. We always try and leave the car at the cottage as much as possible as the walks are so nice.

Would we stay again? You bet we would and in fact have already booked for Easter!
