We had a fantastic three night stay here and would love to return. The cottage is so attractively furnished - it's simple and comfortable, it has personality but isn't too quirky or kitsch. The double sided log burner is a luxury and the views across the Derbyshire Dales from the French windows are stunning. It's too easy to lapse into hyperbole, but everything really was perfect. Julia couldn't have been more helpful, from finding us some ice for gin and tonics when we arrived to answering questions by email before we arrived.
The whole site is beautifully tended. A family party occupied the other properties across the yard while we were there: the Milking Parlour is thoughtfully designed so it still feels private even when others are about.
The games room was a great entertainment on a wet and snowy day. We enjoyed a very traditional pub lunch in Sheldon Village.
If you want to hide away and self-cater, I recommend taking provisions with you as there isn't a shop in Sheldon. The kitchen is well equipped - it's no hardship cooking here for two in this magical spot high in the Dales! There are great walks and views from the cottage - or Bakewell is a short drive down the hill.

What a stunning little place! The views were wonderful, the interior was so comfortable and tasteful, and our hosts have clearly worked extremely hard on creating the perfect getaway in a very picturesque part of the Peak District. Hens and sheep welcomed us along with thoughtful treats inside our weekend retreat.

The cottage has been recently renovated (this year) to a very high standard. The fixtures, fittings and decor are very attractive. There is a games room with lots of activities for children and adults. Also a communal washing machine and dryer. The location is great, quiet with a great view from the back of the cottage (Milking Parlour) recommended walks from the cottage are provided in the information folder. The owners are on hand, but not obtrusively, should there be any problems. Safe cycle storage also for bikes, although the area is quite hilly!

FABULOUS LUXURY ACCOMMODATION AND HOSPITALITY! We are arrived for a 3 night stay in 'The Milking Parlour', what a gem we found, the views and accommodation are stunning and attention to detail is paramount. The bed is super comfy and the whole property was pristine! Julia and her family were wonderful hosts and on arrival in the property there were some thoughtful 'Treats' which were very much appreciated. We can't wait to book another holiday!
