This is a must place to visit. It has a great setting (being a disused factory with all the original equipment and machinery) , with large gardens , a wonderful restaurant, snack area and shops for souvenir and rum / sugar tasting. However, it has so much information, we just lost interest. We all left with different souvenir of the place and information ! I just felt a bit overwhelmed by the reading of history ... at the end I walked around and enjoyed most the spaciousness of the place. I come out more informed about the different types of sugar for my cooking and I have tasted all the ones on offer ! Our favourite rum was the honey one unanimously !
I still recommend the visit though, perhaps timing it with a guide to get the most of your visit. Easily taking 1 h to half a day , depending if you want to enjoy everything including lunch !
