Classic surroundings, made to feel very welcome by staff. Efficient with the hot drinks, buffet laid out was excellent & tasty. A beautiful room for family & friends to remember a dear old lady. Thank you for making a sad day, memorable.

Spent the Easter weekend at the Library .It is a wonderful place if you love peace, books and good food .The calm that descends is pervasive and it’s like a reading retreat from the busy world .Rooms excellent value with great power showers. The food was excellent and well priced .The library is the jewel in the crown and to sit amongst Gladstone’s books was a privilege.Loved it and will be back .

This was our third writing retreat at the venue and it just seems to get better every time.

Of course the surroundings are beautiful and the history is impressive, but we love the staff here who always make us feel valued and welcome.

They really care for our welfare.

Thank you once again!

Really enjoy spending time on a writing retreat (non res) at Gladstone’s. It’s a very relaxed place to read, relax, wander and think. The Food for Thought restaurant is great. Plenty of fresh, homemade food to choose from. Particularly appreciated the gluten free options available . Chef willing to help with dietary needs. Little shout out to Denise who is really welcoming and hospitable in her style. Great 2 days, thanks to all @ Gladstone’s

Amazing place. We only stayed on night but the peace and quiet was hugely restorative. The library is enormously atmospheric and the common room wonderfully comfy. Staff were really friendly. There's a couple of pubs and the churchyard nearby if you need a change of scene. Would happily stay here again
