We stayed at the Sleutelhuys for two nights in June. It was a wonderful place -- very clean, comfortable, and stylish. The proprietors are kind and helpful. We got a tour of the market and some Flemish instruction as well -- bedankt! There is a lovely garden in the back. We had two rooms -- an apartment, which was spacious and had a kitchenette, and our teens stayed in another room down the hall. Both were perfect and very convenient to one another. Tielt is an interesting historical town with good restaurants and is a great base for touring the area. We took the train to Ghent and Bruges -- both about 1/2 hour away. The train station in Tielt has free parking, by the way. It was great to tour during the day, and return via a easy train ride to our peaceful, comfy rooms. We would love to return one day, and would definitely stay at the Sleutelhuys again.

We couldn't have been more happy staying here. We stayed in February for 4 nights (would happily have stayed there forever...) and loved the quaint town of Tielt, which provided plenty of eating options (which we were advised of some tasty local restaurants), and less than a 5 minute walk to the town square. It was perfect for exploring Bruges and Ghent (half an hour away) and there was plenty of room to park our car securely on the property. The room (or rather apartment!) was absolutely perfect, with a huge amount of room to relax in, we didn't want to leave! Left a very pleasant impression of Belgium for us.

Room Tip: Top apartment has lovely big windows that you can see the small town centre from.

This place was a true hidden gem. The room was excellent and the owner gave us a walking tour of the town.

A wonderful base between Ghent and Brugge. Would highly recommend using this place as a base. The town itself had a few lovely restaurants and bars .

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed at the Sleutelhuys as a base camp to explore Flanders by bike. Excellent value for the beautiful room. We also appreciated the history and tour of the center of Tielt we received upon arrival.

It was a WOW moment when we finally saw our room. Everything was so perfectly stylish and the most important thing, it's still toddler-friendly. There are some activities game boards in room and they even provided two boxes of Lego and toys for our 2,5y.o. toddler.
