This place was a true hidden gem. The room was excellent and the owner gave us a walking tour of the town.

A wonderful base between Ghent and Brugge. Would highly recommend using this place as a base. The town itself had a few lovely restaurants and bars .

Stayed: April 2015

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed at the Sleutelhuys as a base camp to explore Flanders by bike. Excellent value for the beautiful room. We also appreciated the history and tour of the center of Tielt we received upon arrival.

It was a WOW moment when we finally saw our room. Everything was so perfectly stylish and the most important thing, it's still toddler-friendly. There are some activities game boards in room and they even provided two boxes of Lego and toys for our 2,5y.o. toddler.

There is little extra that I can add to previous reviews.
The accommodation is excellent.
The sunbeds in the garden were welcome for relaxing in the sun.
The location is good for visiting both Bruge & Ghent.
The owners were friendly and helpful.
We stayed for only one night as we journeyed south but would happily have stayed longer.

From when we arrived at The Sleutelhuys, the owners of this wonderful self-catering property made us feel very welcome. The accommodation is in the quiet town of Tielt with some nice restaurants, and within easy walk of the train station, for visiting the lovely town of Ghent. If our stay had been longer we would also have visited Brussels. Bruges was only a half hour drive and we parked in the reasonably priced station car park and used the free shuttle bus into the nice town for sightseeing and shopping.
Carine and her family could not have been more helpful before and during our three-night stay. The apartment was so comfortable, and modern, and our boys loved the garden in which the whole property was set. We would definitely recommend this property for an enjoyable holiday, and we would love to return at Christmastime to see the Christmas markets. Andy and family.
