I hesitated between giving a rating of 4 as a visit to the church will not last long, but decided on 5 as the interior of the church really affected me.
The church is restored recently. It reflects the old ways : the paintings naive, the colours subtle : harmony all over. A mature, serious feeling, but just and balanced happiness could be felt. It is often closed, if so do not give up and ask at the tourist information if they can open it for you
Stepping into the gated church area is like stepping into a different time. Everything is so genuinely timeless that you can sit down anywhere and go back in time - a real life museum, a snap shot of times long gone. Wonderful!
The original church burned and rebuilt in 1700. This over 300 yeard old church is mainly open in summertime and not used as a traditional church. If you visit the town, you might feel interested in more details of this building as it has a very long history. I have seen the church daily for decades so I used to be very used to it, but know when visiting, it has to be shown to children. Recommend for couples and family with smaller children.
