A big thanks to Arto for his support in preparing and providing great logistics and advice for a 6 day canoe trip in autonomy, 5 days round Kolovesi and 1 day back to Oravi with my dad. Despite very late in the season, Arto made this trip possible by renting the equipment we needed. The result was 2 days of snow and 4 days of rain but a wonderful exploration of Kolovesi National Park and the beautiful wilderness of central Savonia, and great fishing! To all out there dreaming of the great Finnish canoe escape this is the spot! Kiittos Arto.

VIVE LA FRANCE !  Thank you for coming ! Canoeing late october in Finland is an extreme experience, but as you have proven... very much doable. Personnally I continue canoeing untill november, and start in river sites early april when lakes are still frozen. I sent you a link to Dropbox for some photos I took when you started your tour, hope you like it.
A bientot !
Arto

We made a very nice Canoe trip with Arto. He is a very friendly man who can tell you alle about the saima seal and the lake. The Canoe has a small electric silent motor so you don't have to paddle the whole time if you don't want to.

One piece of advice: something soft to sit on is no luxery.
