Checked-in at Royal Hotel Miyabi-tei, then we were led through tunnel and elevator to its annex building Tsuki-no-Akari. It was set on hillside, a completely different atmosphere from Royal Hotel.
Our room was a very spacious Western-Japanese style villa in 85sqm. The first onsen hotel offering in-room footbath I encountered so far.
Lots of useful amenities and cream for joint pain, peeling, scrubbing, horse-oil shampoo and body wash. Hostess was kind, offering to take pictures for us, even when we were across the road by the river. We were given a surprise birthday present as she knew we were celebrating for birthday.
Fine dining of Kaiseki dinner with Hida beef, without the usual large pot of rice ensured full satisfaction. Dessert and seasonal fruit were served in villa after meal.
3 levels in the building:
8/F - lobby and 10 villas, private dining restaurant
B1 - public onsen opens 5am- 10am
B2 - connect to Royal Hotel
Could use public onsen on 7/F and free footbath ’Ya’ in sister hotel, Royal Hotel
