I chose this place as a romantic two-day trip for me and my girlfriend. Its affordable and you can reserve 45 of private onsen time which is included with the price for the overnight. No view in the private onsen, but you do feel the outdoor air. The gender separated outdoor onsens do have a great view, as well as one of the indoor onsens (gender swap per timeslot). I recommend going for the dinner and breakfast in the room experience. Both are large assortiments of small, special Japanese dishes.
Men get a standard yukata as part of the room, women can choose a color yukata on arrival (also included though both stay with the hotel).
The host Ben is a wonderful chatty but polite person. He will gladly explain questions you have about local things to do. Gero is great for exactly one day of exploring on foot. One of the staff, Lucy, was also very sweet as when she came to bring in our dinner, she caught us struggling with the yukata knot as was kind to help. She also answered our questions about the food and which order to eat it. Ben is fluent in English, but all staff spoke English well enough so there was no trouble communicating (or they understood body language very well). I recommend this place for couples. Try all the onsen types too!More
