Delight

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Jun 2018
It was a very plesant staying, thanks to Pat and his family. B&B is good located in nice village Kilmore Quay, big parking, breakfast with good selection of cereals, fruits and hot dishes. Nice room, very good bed. I had a room with a nice view to main street of village, very quiet. Big parking space, good wifi. Close to pub and sea-side.

This is a hidden gem. Owner/operator very friendly, breakfast made by him was wonderful. Lots of fresh fruit and menu selections of hot items. Breakfast was included which adds a lot of value. Our room was on the smaller side but very comfortable, mattress due for update sometime soon. (we were in front of the BnB, upstairs). All areas clean, good shower. We also loved the Kilmore Quay area, Kehoe Pub was a treat with great food, live entertainment. Wonderful walking on the waterfront and wharf area. Friendly people. Nice to get off the beaten path and discover smaller places.

Room tip: We had 3 rooms, All rooms were good

Well normally us anglers would have to go with lower end, but what a find!!! The anglers section is matched for quality as the normal house guests. The whole set up is run with a friendly and wealth of local knowledge manager Pat.
If your on holiday with kids, walking or like us fishermen from Wales, you couldn't get a better guest house.
If angling Pat put us in touch with Dick Hayes and between them two we had such a wonderful time, with a full irish breaky to see us through the day guided by Dick we caught so many, even more than we did in Norway in 2017.

Well done and this place is such terrific value,

Room tip: budget price but on pair with any hotel for service and quality!

Kilmore Quay is an absolute delight and only half an hour from the ferry at Rosslare.
It seems a quiet place but if the queue at the great take-away fish-and-chip shop is anything to go by, very popular.
The Quay House is one of a handful of B&Bs in the village and prices itself accordingly at 100 Euros ... which Booking.com seems to think converts to £88 [really!]
The location is good, just a short walk from the quay and the pleasant pub. Parking is excellent.
The room we were allocated was a good size but like the rest of the house, tired.
Breakfast offered choice and was served by friendly staff.
You can't blame the owner for developing Quay House as a lucrative business opportunity but I did feel it fell down in that it lacked attention to detail and a personal touch; which we generally found elsewhere on our S. Ireland road-trip.

We came directly to Quay House in Kilmore Quay from Australia - a long way but what a great find. Owners very helpful, large clean room as described and beautiful breakfast. Easy walk to nearby pub and the harbour and such a lovely region to drive around.

We were pleasantly surprised on our arrival at Quay House as we were booked into an apartment. Very spacious with all mod cons. All staff were very friendly and delicious breakfast each morning. Highly recommend if planning to stay in Kilmore Quay
