Description: The Pastorinha restaurant , in Carcavelos Beach, has been a reference since 1976, with very comfortable and attractive facilities. With a panoramic and renovated space, the view over the immense sea, makes any meal a special meal. The view, the hospitality, the decoration, the professional service, invite you to a meal on the terrace. The cuisine is based on fish and seafood, with a simple preparation that make it stand out the freshness and the natural flavor. The wine list and the liquor store in Pastorinha's restaurant make it difficult to choose which wine to accompany the meal. In addition to the main courses, traditional Portuguese foods wins customers.

We were driving on a Saturday from Sintra to Lisbon and stopped at Pastorinha for lunch. The place is modern and well decorated as it has been recently renovated. Facing the ocean, the view is a bonus for the meal. Impeccable service. It was the restaurant where my wife drank the most delicious sangria in Portugal. We declined the plentiful and attractive couvert, otherwise, we would end our meal with it. We then ordered a cataplana (a sort of stew) of seafood for two. The portion was very large, light and flavorful. The prices are a bit above average in Lisbon, but they are up to the standard of the restaurant.

Good restaurant with a nice sea view, reasonably good sea food and service. Decent menu, can try the salted fish.

Not the place if trendy cosmopolitan cuisine with hipster decor is your thing - standing fan napkin arrangement and steak au poivre anyone? The food is, to be fair, very very good. It is also a great place for fish and seafood where the Grilled Mixed Fish and the Fish in Salt Crust are house staples. The scrumptious desserts from Alentejo will feel heavy on your stomach, but then again you are on the beach so you can always go for a walk afterwards. What can go wrong, really? Great seafood with great sea views. Oh, did I mention the napkin arrangements?

I have been to the restaurant a few times as the seafood is top quality and children dishes (menu infantile) are good value. The sea view is very beautiful and the piano player gives an excellent touch.
Now for the negatives: the table service is OK and could be improved. But the big shocker was being charged 3 euro for take away and nowhere is this mentioned on the menu. So in fact, I paid twice for the same meal because I asked to take the left over food with me... that would have been thrown away. The justification of the manager was poor. He said it was the cost of the plastic container....So now it is an insult to ones intelligence. I would only accept this cost if it was written on the menu at the very end. Its not about the cost its about honest communication.
