This is a lovely little place, away from the hustle and bustle of town but with enough happening to keep it alive. We stayed early in the week mon to wed and there were plenty of people around in the evening like ourselves staying and eating there after travelling during the days sightseeing. It is ideally located as a base for exploring Wexford and Waterford. Food is good and if you are staying here at the weekends there is music on offer. It is also popular with bus tours/groups, they had a full house on monday night. The staff were lovely and friendly and the bar seems to be frequented by the locals who were happy to chat too. Rooms were clean and food was typical of bar food (we didnt eat in the restaurant). Just one thing of note there is no lift in this building (that I could see) and our room was up a long flight of stairs which was only awkward carrying our cases as we are thankfully able bodied. If you have mobility issues please ask for a room on ground floor. We enjoyed our stay.

Hello marzyIreland,
Thank you for taking the time to write such a kind review. It means a lot to us to hear peoples experiences while here and we are delighted you had a great time. We pride ourselves in having friendly and kind staff are we delighted you noticed this. We do have a lot of bus tours here from all over the world. You are indeed correct in saying that we do not have a lift, however, when made aware of mobility issues we always locate these guests on the ground floor. We hope to see you return again in the near future.
Kind regards,
Leanne

Hello Rachel,

We are delighted to hear you had such a nice time here. I will send on your compliments to the accomodation staff, they take pride in keeping the place nice and clean. As a family run business we always have children in and out of the hotel so our staff are very used to dealing with kids. Tramore and the Copper Coast farm were two lovely places to visit as a family, we hope you had nice weather for it. Looking forward to meeting you and your family again soon.
Kind regards,
Leanne

The reception/ lounge area gives a nice entrance. We were pleased with the size of our bedroom which was bright and clean. Nice country view over the trees. The room has all the amenities needed.
The breakfast was pretty standard with the hot food being freshly cooked. The chairs are extremely heavy, making them noisy to move on the wooden floor.

All of our 31 rooms are big and bright, and we are very lucky to have beautiful views here in the countryside. Our breakfast is indeed cooked to order for each guest. We booked online 1 room and included our 3 kids (18, 13 and 9). Upon checking out, we were charged DOUBLE the price of the room because they considered our oldest and adult. We would have accepted paying an extra fee for an additional adult, even though presumably they had this information before we arrived, but to charge double the room fee was completely out of line. Bottom line, be sure you know exactly what you are getting before you book a room here. This was the first day of our Ireland vacation and this hotel left us feeling taken advantage of.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. We are very sorry to hear that you felt the hotel had taken advantage of you. Our policy on family rooms is that all children under the age of 10 years are inlcuded. Your child of 18 years would indeed be classed as an adult and would have to pay a full adult rate. This is standard practice in all hotels. We also charge a supplement for children over the age of 10 years. Depending on what booking engine you used, some include breakfast and some do not. If you would like to contact me directly on info@rhuglennhotel.com with some information on your booking and I can look further into the matter for you. Once again we sincerely apoligise that you felt we took advantage of the situation.
Kind regards,
Leanne
