I was visiting resort during July 2019 with my family in "Luhtihotelli".
Luhtihotel (note: Luhti roughly means "Loft") buildings are not in immediate vicinity of main building/reception (and golf courses) but a few hundred meters away (time to walk to main building was roughly ten to fifteen minutes). Two story buildings are rather new and still under some minor reparation work and are without any fancy services (restaurants, cafeterias, etc.).

Actual rooms were good sized, clean in overall but also at same time rather basic from decoration point of view. Bathroom (and especially shower) was good.
As interesting side note no keys were given but room door is opened by using 4-digit code given from reception. This naturally is way of future but on the other hand raised questions in our minds about the security of solution (could one brute-force 4-digit code or otherwise learn the code when given).
This didn't cause any issue for me, though.

Location is nice and views from the room was nice especially when one has car and a) wants to play golf or b) wants to visit nearby Naantali-city (Muumin world, for instance). Naantali-city was 10-15 min ride away from hotel.

Experienced issues in otherwise good stay with some ideas for improvement:
1) Restaurants
In practise there are only a few restaurants nearby hotel: Cafeteria located in main building which closed at 8 pm and didn't serve hot meals (dinner) but sandwiches and drinks. Clearly focused for golf-players that are thirsty 8-).
Then there is other restaurant that is indeed serving pizza and salad dishes but it was also only open until 8.30 pm.
As recommendation for hotel I would say that they could consider in those busy months to have one restaurant open longer to evening with wider menu than pizza and salad. Residents are forced now to drive to Naantali city to get wider range of options for dinner or any food at all.
Breakfast was good but basic and served in main building each morning from 8am to 10am.

2) Cleaning of the "Luhtihotel"
Now cleaning was not done every day. We stayed for two days and there was no sight of cleaner. Hotel rooms were clean when we arrived, but it would be good to at least check need to bring new towels each day. Now it seems to be in hands of visitor to ask reception to change towels.

In overall I was hesitating to either give four stars, but I ended up with three stars because of previously mentioned issues (limitations in services).

Room tip: There is no elevator in Luhtihotel premises. Buy food and drinks to room (room has fridge) since cafeteria and restaurants close early.

Hello John,

Thank you for your well written feedback and the ideas for improvement.

Our hotel rooms are in peaceful area with a forest view and e.g. the restaurant services are closer to the reception area in the main building. The hotel rooms are in a quiet and separate area so that the possible noises from the restaurants will not bother you to get good nights sleep, even though the restaurants close quite early at the moment.

As you said there is an electronical code system to the hotel rooms, and this has been working for some years now. Really good solution in these modern days, also for them who arrive after reception opening hours (in summer after 8pm). The codes are given from the reception staff either on spot or by e-mail or by text message. We haven’t had issues on this, but I understand this can cause questions on client’s behalf.

Good that you wrote ideas for how we can improve the customer experience. We have discussed about the opening hours of the restaurants with our personnel and we’ll keep in mind your wish when planning next year.

Accommodation does not include room cleaning during the stay but is possible on request on extra charge (€35, Standard Room and Mini Suite, €40 Golf Suite and €55 Kultaranta Suite or Marina Suite). This is mentioned in the paper when checking in or in the e-mail you get before your arrival. If you wish to have your room cleaned during your stay, you can inform this to our reception by stopping by or calling +358 75 326 6000 before 10am on the day you wish to have your room cleaned. Because of the environmental issues the towels are not changed daily unless requested separately.

Thank you once again for your time and thoughts spent while writing this feedback, we appreciate it a lot.

Have a great rest of the summer and do come again!

With best regards,

Pilvi / Sales Office

Lovely quiet area. Made a good choices staying here. Loved the beer and pizza and view. Just an overnight stay that could have been longer.
Only suggestions: check All closets before leaving - the crew kindly kept my jacket for my return trip. Add blackout curtains to all windows for light sensitive folks.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback. Really nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay and had a pleasant time. Our resort's area is nice and quiet and surrounded by forest which makes you feel relaxed, as you should be on your holiday.

Our summer restaurant, Kultaranta Heineken House offers gourmet pizzas and they are simply delicious and well known in the area. Also sipping on a cold beer surrounded by the archipelago golf course view makes it a memorable moment.

Great that you also got your jacket back. Those blackout curtains are a good suggestions to the hotel rooms, we'll keep that in mind.

Hoping to see you again soon and have a great rest of the summer!

With best regards,

I have visited Kultaranta resort a couple of times. The rooms are nice and I like the fact that it's not one big hotel but a few different two story buildings. The rooms are nice a and modern. Double beds are actually two beds put together which is not a double bed. I hate hotel pillows, they are almost never good, but I guess thats the case in almost every hotel... Nice good sized bathroom. Clean rooms. This time I did not have breakfast at the hotel since it's offseason and they don't serve it. Well you can actually order breakfast for an additional charge but chose not to have it. I've eaten breakfast once at the hotel and I remember it being ok. I really like the surroundings, nice and peaceful, close to the sea. I like the place and will definately visit again.
