My husband and I recently had a break in Yorkshire at the Talbot Hotel in Malton. This is a traditional hotel in a brilliant location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are kept spotless, with lovely bedding and towels. This is a very comfortable base for easily visiting Castle Howard, York, Scarborough, Whitby on public transport. The railway station and bus station are very close to each other and only 5/6 minutes walk from the Hotel.
The grounds and views from the windows are beautiful, so book a room with a view. When booking, check your needs against the available rooms. Ample parking is available. Thanks for a lovely stay!.

I recently attended my friends wedding reception here on the 1st September 2018.
The venue is beautiful with a great atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and efficient.
The bar has an excellent selection of gins and the hog roast was delicious!

We stayed at the Talbot because our niece’s wedding was being held there.

We found the Talbot to be a comfortable, traditional, British country hotel in a delightful Yorkshire market town. The food was of a high standard, especially the breakfasts, and the staff were consistently helpful and polite. The rooms were comfortable and the parking plentiful. We enjoyed our stay there and would happily return and we felt it was an excellent wedding venue.

What a beautiful place to have a wedding. A day my dear friends will never forget. Rooms amazing, cosy, full of everything you could possibly need including robes & slippers. Amazing food and hospitality especially from Soraia. Nothing was any trouble for her, service with a smile and very efficient.
Would visit again to stay - highly reccomended

My nephew married his fiance at the Hotel at the beginning of September, they had a civil reception, wedding breakfast and evening disco and supper. We stayed at the Hotel on the Saturday night. The Hotel and all it's staff were wonderful; the staff went out of their way to make the whole day so memorable for everyone. The standard of the rooms and the quality of the food was exceptional.

Room Tip: Rooms facing away from the road have views over the Derwent Valley.
