You will get a good welcome here from all the staff and the locals. Mainly a Bistro type pub restaurant the food is good and the rooms beautifully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast is good and visitors can order what they want. Highly recommended

We had a lovely room, which had recently been refurbished tastefully and comfortably.
The bar / bistro had also recently been refurbished and the owners have done it very well. There was a limited choice of food in the evening, but it was cooked perfectly. The breakfast was excellent. The only thing of concern was that on-site parking is advertised, but its non existent, we managed to park on the street close by. Would definitely return.

We didn't stay at the hotel, we were driven here by the owners of nearby Hadrian Lodge Hotel.

We didn't expect to find a contemporary restaurant in Haydon Bridge, but there it was. Nice, modern menu in a modern looking pub. Not the traditional pub fate. I had a broccoli soup and chicken and gammon pie, with mashed potatoes and peas. I drank Jennings Cumberland ale, a local beer. Not bad.

Friendly atmosphere and staff.

We booked to stay 2 night's at the Railway hotel and bistro. Arrived around 4 on the Friday afternoon and we were greeted at the bar by Katie (I think!) who checked us in and showed us to our lovely room. We went down to the bar for drinks after unpacking and I mentioned there was an odd smell in our room. The staff immediately went to sort it out. That evening we went for a walk by the river and when we got back we had missed dinner but they still offered to make us sandwiches for supper. Breakfast the following morning was superb we could have whatever combination we wanted. Evening meal that night was again really tasty in fact there was so much we couldn't eat it all. The customer service here was second to none. I can't recommend the place highly enough.

Thank you so much for your review and for taking the time to do this.
Our Church Street Room is directly above the bar and does sometimes get a little noise.
Our prise reflects this but our other rooms are all quiet rooms.
If you let us know if you return we will make sure we put you in one of our other rooms.

Best Wishes
