The hotel was as good as advertised if not better. We are a family of four with two teenages. We had adjoining rooms which meant we could all be together in one room or seperate for some privacy. The rooms were well equiped and clean. The Karibu restaurant was amazing. A variety of food of a very high standard. The staff were always very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Overall a wonderful experience.

This was our Honeymoon and I have to say this was the best holiday we have ever had, the hotel could not do enough for you, everything was perfect.

We came back from our safari and they had upgraded us to a suite with beach, garden and pool views.

The food selection in the restaurant was excellent and they catered for all tastes.

The only down fall was the beach boys who could be a pain and pester you when gong down to the beach but we worked out going down the beach at 6pm for a nice walk and they would of all of gone home.

Watch out for the monkeys, they are funny lot especially the baboons, don't try and stop them if they try and take anything off you just let them take it. The Security team do chase them away and some of them are an ace shot with the catapult lol.

Room Tip: Try and get a room in maridadi section it's really nice and close to the pool.

We have just returned back home from a stay at the renowned Baobab beach resort.. When booking we were looking forward to getting away and relaxing..
Initial impression of the hotel! FANTASTIC.. even though we were a little late.. the Karibu restaurant and the head waiter managed to get us some food. Settling into our rooms we were extremely impressed.. we were upgraded to the Maridadi wing and it was beautiful.. and it ends there...
Heading into the maridadi restaurant for dinner that evening we were told by an extremely rude waiter that we should have informed them in advance if we were going to eat there so that could have accommodated us.. fair enough.. it was a party of 7 adults and 2 toddlers! sitting down a rude waitress scowled at having us around and giving her a list of the drinks we were ordering.. surprisingly at the foreign crowd they were smiles all around.. the chefs at the food counters were annoyed at my sister for taking her meal from the buffet section and literally asked her to leave the spoon where it was!!!!!!!!! smart responses were always on hand from the staff... from what meat was in the mix etc..
we also noticed that while we waited for over 15 mins to get our drinks the foreign guests were served instantly..
Cleaning the rooms were never done unless we went down to the reception and asked them to do so..

Its quite disheartening that they had an offer for the local Kenyan community whereby you could get a complimentary night free upon booking 3 nights but when the local community does take up the offer it seems like we are more of a drag.. SHAME ON THE STAFF, MANAGEMENT FOR BEHAVING THIS WAY! Being Kenyan learn how to appreciate the people around you, we are welcoming people and not the kind you have portrayed yourself.. !!!

Have to mention the staff at Kole Kole though.. they were amazing.. extremely welcoming and warm.. thank you guys.. the one dining experience we had there was the best and that was it..

Room Tip: Book at Kole Kole.. they are the only hospitable group around.. Maridadi was the worst!

We stayed at Baobab for 1 week during our family holiday in November 2012. We felt like staying in a jungle with all those animals and plants around. Monkeys knocked at our window and lizards walked on walls and grass. Old, magnificent baobab trees and palms created fantastic, tropical atmosphere. The hotel itself is very comfortable especially food court and swimming pools. You can freely walk between 3 hotel resorts what is a great advantage and makes you actually stay in 3 places at once. Great food, very friendly staff and high quality service. The coral reef close to the hotel is "so so". If you have no better choice - you can go, but do not expect miracles. Safari is must while you are in Kenya. We took for safari JT Safaris company what was a great choice. They are located in Ukunda (nearby from the hotel) and are very professional and reliable. We took a tailor made 2 day trip to Tsavo West and East (with one night an Nguila Lodge). It was really fantastic - recommendable. We saw a lot of birds (our main interest). Our stay at Baobab made our holiday one of our favorite ones.

We have recently returned from one of the best holidays we have ever had. I had always wanted to visit Kenya so as it was a special birthday we decided to go. After the long flight we had a pleasant journey to the hotel where the check in was handled very efficiently. The welcome was warm and friendly and our room had been upgraded for my birthday, which was a lovely surprise. The weather during our stay was beautiful with a cooling breeze. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was plentiful and varied there was always something different to choose. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Baobab Beach and will definitely be returning. We would like to thank Khasim and all of the other staff for their help and friendliness.

Room Tip: We did upgrade which was well worth the small amount it cost
