Absolutely stunning villa in peaceful olive groves, a couple of hundred yards from a quiet and secluded beach. We rented the main, upper villa. There are a couple of small apartments below, but these were empty so we had the villa and grounds (olives, figs, lemons!) to ourselves. In any case, I think the villa is configured so that you mightn't even notice if they were occupied.
The villa was fantastic, spacious and my wife and I loved the styling and decor which had an old fashioned colonial feel mixed with a slightly bohemian/hippy vibe. The kitchen was great so for the first time (and we have visited Greece a lot) we cooked our own meals most nights. We ate on the covered veranda which gives spectacular views across the sea to the island of Marathonisis.
The villa's location is perfect, a beautiful rural idyl but you can hop on a scooter and arrive in the busy resort of laganas, should the mood take you. We hired a scooter from Spiros at Crown rentals in laganas ( excellent service- scooter delivered and collected from the villa at no charge) and spent the holiday exploring the mountain villages and sites. Zante is not so large that you can't explore pretty much all of it on a small scooter, although we stuck to the south side of the island as we did the north last year.
Certainly the best villa we have ever stayed at in Greece (have been to Crete, Thassos, Kephalonia, Rhodes and Zante). The owner, Anta, is very friendly and helpful and even gave us a lift back to the airport for our return.
Thoroughly recommended, we hope to get the opportunity to return!
We warmly recommend this place. We were there for a week beginning of April : 7 people including 2 children. The house is large, pleasant with a lot of charm, and has a nice garden in the middle of an impressive olive tree forest. There is a local beach with shallow water and pebbles, but also a bit of sand, and it was ideal for the children to swim. The view from the house is amazing. The house is just in front of Marathonisi Island, where sea turtles come, in the summer, to lay their eggs. There are lots of local amenities around (mini markets) but also a Lidl at 15 minutes drive.
The house owner has been very nice with us, providing a lot of information about the island, the wildlife and some good restaurant addresses. We really enjoyed watching the sunset at Keri lighthouse which is at 20 minutes drive from the house.
Really good location to stay in Zakynthos!
The house is gorgeus and near to Kiri, one of the most beautiful village of the island.
I recommend it!
