“Delightful little cottage with lovely views”

Delightful cottage for a couple. Very good location and lovely views. Owner extremely considerate and helpful. Directions if coming from Carlingford/Omeath would have been helpful.

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?
How easy was key pickup/access to the property? Overall condition of the property
Bedding & mattresses Kitchen & utensils
Bathroom cleanliness Other facilities & amenities
Liked best: Comfort; it was cosy and had all we needed.
Liked least: Foam layer on the bed made it a bit too 'squidgy' and lumpy for our liking. Outside: garden area needed attention: weeds in beds and drive and unmowed and weedy lawns greeted us, although the lawns were partially cut on our third day at the property.

“An Emerald Gem”

When my wife and I arrived at the cottage and saw where it was situated and what the interior was like, we were disappointed ....disappointed because we hadn't found this little cottage years ago. It is beautiful!
If you've ever wanted to stay in a traditional Irish stone cottage but still want the comforts of modern day living, then this is the place for you. This cottage has been tastefully modernised without losing the feel of yesterday. Besides having a large wood burner it has full central heating and all the comforts we enjoy today. The cottage is small and is really only suitable for two people. It is a real home from home.
The cottage is situated on a hill overlooking an inlet from Carlington Lough with beautiful views of the foothills of the Mourne mountains to the front and the Cooley mountains to the rear.
There is an excellent pub/restaurant only150 yards away and the village of Omeath a short drive away. The town of Carlingford and the city of Newry with it's many shops are within 15 minutes by car.
This cottage is ideal for exploring both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
A real gem in the Emerald Isle!

“A little gem ”
Reviewed 14 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We were looking for a cottage for a week which was handy for excursions both North and South and this little gem of a cottage certainly fitted the bill .Immaculately clean and everything we needed for a comfortable stay , a real home from home and the added bonus of dogs allowed

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting.”
Reviewed 8 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We had a wonderful two weeks. The cottage was perfect and was extremely well equipped - everything we could have possibly needed was there. It was in a beautiful setting, too. The owner was lovely and very welcoming and we would definitely recommend staying at this cottage.

“A Very Special Little Hide Away”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed in Ferryhill Cottage for a week in June. I am torn between not wanting to leave a review in case too many people find out about this little gem and wanting to recommend it to everyone I meet so they can experience the magic too!
Beautiful location, breath taking views, fabulously equipped, spotlessly clean and in a perfect area with lots to explore. I challenge you not to feel relaxed and refreshed after your stay in this precious cottage. Could have easily stayed for a fortnight!
