This Isan (Northeastern Thai) eatery is so popular that residents of neighbouring provinces drive here for a very satisfying dinner that costs less than 200 baht per person. Among its specialties are (what else?) spicy minced duck salad (ลาบเป็ด), spicy crispy catfish salad (ลาบปลาดุกกรอบ), papaya salad with blue crab (ส้มตำปูม้า), and dry red curry with roasted duck (แกงเผ็ดเป็ดย่างแห้ง), all appropriately spicy. Westerners should be prepared to sweat a lot and thank the Buddha for the air-conditioned space (or cool breeze when seated outside). If this garden restaurant isn't awarded the "Clean Food, Good Taste" logo, none in Chai Nat should.
