“Nice Cosy Hotel”
Reviewed 31 December 2006

A nice cosy Hotel right on the beach with above average sized rooms some with a fantastic seaview! The rooms are comfortable, clean and have all mod cons you would expect in a tourist class hotel. The breakfast was delicious with a full Irish available or Continental breakfast. The hotel had extensive lesuire facilities with pool and jacuzzi which looked really nice. The service was good and staff were friendly and helpful. I reccomend this place for its cosy attmosphere and good service.

PS: Try mr chans chinese accross the road, the food is reallllllly nice.

Bon Voyage!

My husband proposed to me at the Neptune Beach Hotel nearly 6 years ago and so I was delighted when he announced last week that we would spend Saturday night at the hotel in one of the executive suites.

While the suite was spacious and comfortable, it was somewhat dingey. The bedspread was stained with what I hope was red wine. There were cobwebs in one of the corners at the ceiling, the upholstered chairs were absolutely filthy and the jacuzzi bath needed to be re-grouted. Also, there are huge cracks all over the walls throughout the suite I'm assuming are due to structural damage.

When the suite was booked, no one mentioned to my other half that the hotel restaurant, Le Pressage, was closed for refurbishment. So we ended up at one of the chippies in the area, but not without some trepidation. In recent years the area has earned a very bad reputation and let's just say you wouldn't want to be out there on your own after dark.

Also, we wanted to have breakfast in our room the next day but there were no breakfast order cards. We asked for one at reception and the receptionist just shrugged and said she didn't know where to get them.

We are undecided as to whether or not we would stay there again. It's not up to the standards it once was which is a real pity because it was a lovely hotel.

  • Liked — The suite was large and the view of the Irish sea was amazing.
  • Disliked — Cleanliness not up to scratch.

Stayed at the hotel for a family wedding. The family room we had was in the old part of the hotel, it was huge, extremely clean and very comfortable. We had a queen size bed and a single bed in the family room.

The sea view we had from our hotel room was limited, but we could still see the beach. The staff are very nice and very courteous. The breakfast the next morning was fantastic.

The only downside was there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, and considering the price that I had paid, I would have expected this.

There is a leisure centre attached, we did visit it to have a look but didn't get a chance to use the facilities.

However, this is a friendly, clean and lovely hotel, i'd thoroughly recommend it.
