First time in the pub after a fair amount of time based on a recommendation. Not disappointed with the food or the welcome. Prices are about £15 for two courses so well priced. I had the venison burger (local source) and my wife had the mac & cheese, both top notch! Weĺl done to the new owners and team.

Spent the evening here on Saturday 4 July 2015 with my wife Pauline and our friends Wilma and Crawford to take in the talent show. We started the evening with a cracker of a meal, which was very well presented and extremely tastey, and not overly priced, a theme which carried on to the copious amount of drink we consumed over the rest of the evening. The show was entertaining which encouraged all the patrons to get involved. This is a small pub with a massive heart, created by the proprietors and all the staff, and, although a wee bit out of the way, is certainly well worth a visit. One other draw of the pub is the stunning views across the Firth of Clyde.

This is our local and we absolutely love it! The hospitality and service is fantastic every time. We always set out with good intentions to go in for 'just a couple' but end up spending the entire evening blethering away to everyone, it's too much fun to leave. We both had Linda's steak pie for dinner yesterday and what a treat! Huge chunks of slow-cooked beef, the gravy was delicious - with a crisp golden puff pastry topping. The veg and homemade chips to accompany were excellent, we both cleared our plates completely and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Even if you're not from the area, it's definitely worth a visit - the views out front are simply stunning, even when it's raining. The dinner service is usually very busy so maybe ring ahead and book a table if you can - hardly surprising when the standard of food overall is out of this world. Love! Love! Love!

Stayed in a cottage in Strone and drove past the Strone inn so decided to look it up on Facebook and call in for tea! We weren't disappointed...really warm welcome and gorgeous home cooked food! Would highly recommend a visit. Is worth calling ahead to book a table. We're extra impressed at the cost...would have paid double in a city restaurant for half the quality!
