The pagoda is very interesting, like most in Myanmar, there is lots of gold and jewels. It is not very touristy so it is easy to move around and get some great photos.

That was very beautiful & calm place.I visited in night time and I think that is the best time to visit the place.
You can find so many souvenir shops,Neat to the temple. They are very cheap and can negotiate.

This place is very nice, with lots of good views and a view of the Big Buddah.
There is a charge (only for tourists) about 300kyat.
A lot of people want to take photos with you if your a foreigner, which is a bit of a funny experience.
You need to take your shoes off and be wearing appropriate clothing to enter, as you do with any Pagoda in Myanmar. I would reccomend dressing this way all the time in Myanmar since so many sites are sacred.
Bottoms that cover the knees for both women and men.
T-shirt that covers shoulders.

Having travelled extensively in Myanmar, Shwesandaw in Pyay remains one of our favourite pagodas. An important pilgrimage site, the pagoda is set on a hill offering superb views over Pyay, the Irrawaddy and the surrounding countryside. The pagoda itself is very harmonious and is worth visiting in the evening as sun sets when busy with worshippers. A fee for foreigners has recently been introduced (Kyat 3k when we went) but that gives you a little historical leaflet and access to a VIP lift, although taking the stairs at least one way is good to see all the religious shops.
